Democrats: Still The Party of Selective Outrage, Hate and Aggression

The picture is etched indelibly in the American mind and psyche. It represents oppression, racism and hate. On May 3, 1963 Birmingham Public Safety Commissioner Bull Connor ordered the use of fire hoses and police dogs on African-American protesters. The grainy, black and white pictures of people of color fleeing snarling dogs and the powerful spray are indicative of a culture divided by black and white.

Those images are still relevant today. What is forgotten about those pictures is something significant. Connor and the southern segregationists were proud members of the Democrat party. Historically, the Democrats are the party of slavery, racism and oppression. Though apologists for Democrats want to insist that somehow in the 1960s the parties reversed roles, this doesn’t hold up under analysis. It is a myth or, as Dinesh D’Souza asserts, “the big lie”.

Take for example the Voting Rights Act of 1964. That legislation was passed in the House with eighty percent of Republicans voting yes and sixty-one percent of the Democrats voting no. After that vote, the myth asserts, many southern Democrat politicians switched to being Republicans. Didn’t happen. Just one did: Strom Thurmond. The rest remained in the Democratic party — including former Klansman Robert Byrd, who became president pro tempore of the Senate.

Today, with the aid of a complicit media, the Democrats continue to be what they’ve always been. They are the party of selective outrage. Has the mainstream media reported much about the horrific events in Chicago last weekend? Seventy-four people were shot. Their ages spanned from eleven to sixty-two years old. Estimates indicate that 1,700 people have been shot the Windy City this year, many of them young people and children.

Democrat politicians and their enablers in the media have been verbose in talking about immigrant children on the border, but I’ve yet to hear or read much from them about the atrocities in Chicago. Could it be that they really don’t care about children? Speaking about the immigrant children at the border is an attempt to smear President Trump. To speak out against the slaughter in Chicago would be to attack Mayor Rahm Emmanuel. Emmanuel is a fellow Democrat, so we hear nothing. Don’t buy into the lie that Democrats care about kids. They use selective outrage. They care about kids who can further their cause.

Democrats continue to be the party of hate. The New York Times recently hired Sarah Jeong as an op-ed writer. They found themselves in damage control rather quickly when a trove of her past tweets was revealed. In addition to maligning white people on Twitter, she also ripped law enforcement officers. Her numerous anti-cop tweets began in 2014 and appeared as recently as December 2017, when she tweeted “f– the police.” She’d also tweeted “cops are a—holes” in November 2015. Eight months later, she asked, “If we’re talking big sweeping bans on sh— that kills people, why don’t we ever ever ever ever talk about banning the police?”

Some of the Ivy League alum Jeong’s tweets about race relations seem to show hate. She tweeted “Oh man it’s kind of sick how much joy I get out of being cruel to old white men.” Here’s another, “White people marking up the internet with their opinions like dogs pissing on fire hydrants.” She also deployed the interesting hashtag, #CancelWhitePeople.

You’d think that these offensive tweets would be universally condemned. If you did, you’d be wrong. In her own defense she claimed she had been engaging “in what I thought of at the time as counter-trolling.” The liberal Vox spouts thousands of words to spin a defense for what is plainly hate. The New York Times, which never misses an opportunity to attack conservatives, released a statement saying that it knew about the tweets before hiring Ms. Jeong, and that she would stay on the editorial board.

Hmm…hating another group of people based on the job they do, or the color of their skin is denounced by the paper normally, that is, if it can attack conservatives. If the offender is a progressive, “The Gray Lady” looks the other way. Don’t be confused. When the Democrats puff up about the awfulness of racism and prejudice, they don’t mean it. They simply use it to increase their own power.

The Democrats are also the party of aggression. Bull Connor and his thugs have nothing on today’s version of Democrat attackers. The gunman who shot Republican lawmakers playing baseball in the summer of 2017 was attempting to “kill as many Republicans as possible.” Antifa, the left-wing protest group that has promoted violence is active. The most recent Antifa attack was last weekend in Berkley where one masked group member sucker-punched a detractor and other agitators smashed the windows at a Marine Corps recruiting post. The rude and ugly behavior of the Progressive Left was on display yet again in Philadelphia where Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk were confronted and attacked simply for being there. Owens who is black was aware of the irony of the all-white protestors. They shouted at her using a bull horn, hearkening back to the good old boy Democrat Bull Connor. It was like the “Civil Rights era all over again,” she tweeted.

These are the people we are up against in the midterm elections. As I see it, the character of our nation is at stake. We must be involved and vote. Giving this group power again will only lead to more horrific acts.
