Back in the glorious days of drive-in movie theaters, I can remember the excitement of seeing not just one, but two full-length, brand new movies. It was called a “double feature” and it was an incredible treat. Now, though, the days of the double feature are dwindling, unless you are from the swamp known as D.C. The double feature is alive and well in our nation’s capital. Now playing is a back to back horror fest broadly known as The Swamp Creature. This dreadful and distasteful debacle plays nightly.
The first of the Swamp Creature features stars a bellicose former intelligence officer whose hate for the president caused him to lose his national security clearance. His name is John Brennan. The monster that is Brennan has been around awhile. National Review in May of 2013 reported how Brennan required four of the CIA officers who had fought to repel the attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi to sign nondisclosure agreements. The NDAs were meant to silence those with information that would expose the Obama administration’s misleading Benghazi narrative. Brennan later lied to Congress about the NDA’s and multiple spins were floated to cover his actions.
Brennan was the strategist behind the idea that ISIS was not a real threat. He claimed that al Qaeda’s “grandiose vision” of an “Islamic caliphate” is an “absurd” and “feckless delusion that is never going to happen.” Three years later, on June 29, 2014, ISIS declared itself to be a caliphate, ruling over a large part of Iraq and Syria.
Now the roar of the Swamp Creature known as Brennan is louder than ever. He’s accused President Trump of treason, refusing to walk it back. “Well, I called his behavior treasonous, which is to betray one’s trust, and to aid and abet the enemy, and I stand very much by that claim.” That’s a serious charge and one that even Brennan’s friends suggest is over the top. James Clapper said of his friend on a CNN interview, “John and his rhetoric have become I think an issue in and of itself.”
Brennan may well be one of the instigators of the phony “Witch Hunt” that has inflamed the creatures of the capital since the president’s election. Rudy Giuliani, a personal attorney for President Trump, slammed former CIA Director John Brennan by saying he should face a grand jury for his role in peddling the salacious Trump dossier that kicked off the “phony” Russia investigation. The first of the “Swamp Creature” attractions, which might be called The Slippery Spy, showcases an angry, loud, hate-filled bureaucrat who bellows and berates without benefit of fact. This movie rates a “two thumbs down”.
The second part of this double feature is also a horror flick. It could be called Fusion: The Spawn of Hate. Featuring Bruce Ohr, it is a spectacle that’s just gaining traction. Ohr is a U.S. Department of Justice associate deputy attorney general. His wife, Nellie, was employed by Fusion GPS to assist in the creation of opposition research on Trump. The fact that the wife of one of the associate deputy attorney generals was employed to do opposition research on a political candidate is bothersome, but it doesn’t stop there.
Ohr maintained contact with former British spy Christopher Steele for more than a year after the FBI terminated ties with him for leaking to the media. Ohr then became Steele’s back-door conduit for feeding information to the FBI. It is also reported that Ohr failed to disclose the payments his wife was receiving from Fusion GPS on his official forms, which is an ethics violation.
The Justice Department has now turned over Ohr documents to Congress that show how deeply tied up he was with the Clinton crew—with many emails, calls, meetings and notes that describe his interactions and what he collected.
The Wall Street Journal, in an editorial this week notes, “Mr. Ohr’s conduct is itself deeply troubling. He was acting as a witness (via FBI interviews) in a case being overseen by a Justice Department in which he held a very senior position. He appears to have concealed this role from at least some superiors, since Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein testified that he’d been unaware of Mr. Ohr’s intermediary status.”
Lies, deception, hate for President Trump, and contempt for the people who elected him: these are the standard practices of this swamp creature. Plenty of swamp apologists have tried to downplay Ohr’s role. Don’t be deceived. He may be the latest discovery of Deep State ugliness and its desire to crush and destroy everything intended to Make America Great Again. This Bruce Ohr feature is a double thumbs- down replay of elitism run amok.
