PETA Goes to War Against … White Milk?

Recently, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) announced that white milk was a symbol of supremacy. Such an absurd statement was actually PETA echoing a message that it posted last year on its blog. The animal rights organization bases their argument on the grounds that white nationalists are using milk emojis and sharing photos of themselves drinking white milk in order to celebrate their whiteness.

PETA goes on to say some evolutionary biologists claim that, due to a genetic mutation in Europeans, white people are able to digest lactose. Of course, PETA’s main concern with white milk is their opposition to the dairy industry, which they claim is cruel towards dairy cattle.

But let’s focus on the white supremacy statement. As I previously mentioned, such a statement is absurd because people of all skin colors drink white milk, as well as chocolate milk or strawberry milk for that matter.

And if white milk is considered to be a symbol of white supremacy, then so are the following foods that are also white: vanilla ice cream, vanilla icing, vanilla cake, vanilla coffee, marshmallows (and marshmallow products), whipped cream, coffee creamer, white American cheese, Swiss cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, Asiago cheese, pepper jack cheese, hot pepper cheese, cottage cheese, cream cheese, sugar, artificial sweeteners, powdered sugar (and anything it is put on, e.g. powdered sugar doughnuts), country gravy, white bread, buns, rolls, biscuits, rice, yogurt, the white meat in chicken, pork (the other white meat), fish, shrimp, crab, lobster, clams, oysters, scallops, the inside of bananas (bananas of course sometimes being considered racist), the inside of apples, the inside of pears, egg whites, onions, veal, coleslaw, flour, garlic, popcorn, cauliflower, the inside of potatoes (and the inside of fried potatoes, e.g. French Fries), mashed potatoes, mushrooms, sour cream, various cream soups and chowders, lard, salt, saltines, English muffins, white corn, white radishes, white kidney beans, white grape juice, flour tortilla shells, noodles and other various pastas, alfredo sauce, various cereals, the inside of dates, turnips, parsnips, white nectarines, white peaches, baking soda, tofu, grits, white wine, mayonnaise, Miracle Whip, tartar sauce, horseradish sauce, hollandaise, ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, cucumber dressing, Caesar dressing, creamy Italian dressing, butter, almond milk (which PETA tells people to drink instead of white milk), soy milk (which PETA also tells people to drink instead of white milk), and white chocolate.

In conclusion, I would tell PETA to quit playing the race card, because no one is particular what color their food is (unless it is burnt, undercooked, or spoiled).
