Critic Claims ‘President Has Run Amok’ … Is He Right Or Ridiculous?

Even President Trump’s staunch defenders are angry, even furious, over his abrupt order to evacuate Syria, prompting the resignation of Sec. of Defense James Matthis.

Clearly, the increasing conflict between Sec. Matthis and the President culminated in the Secretary’s resignation Dec. 20, a resignation largely seen as a protest of the President’s decision to withdraw our military from Syria.

When General John Kelly resigned as White House Chief of Staff, this was a strong indicator the President is either incapable of working with a variety of patriots, or he is unwilling to do so.

Reportedly, every military general consulted about the President’s proposed withdrawal from Syria told the President it was unwise, that doing so would give Iran and Russia unfettered control in that region. Others warned pulling out is a threat to Israel, and an accommodation of ISIS.

One commentator wondered if Vladimir Putin influenced Trump’s decision, or forced it by some nefarious means.

Reportedly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu weighed in, saying this decision is ill-advised. Our European allies also protest. And most telling, other senior advisers—Sec. of State Mike Pompeo and National Security Adviser John Bolton are strongly opposed to the President on Syrian pullout.

Just weeks ago Bolton announced the U.S. would never leave Syria until all Iranian troops cleared out.

Excerpt: “Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr. said earlier this month that the U.S. military still had ‘a long way to go’ in its mission to train local forces in Syria to keep the Islamic State at bay.

Fears are being expressed in the highest circles that an American withdrawal means the Turks are free to attack the devastate the Kurds, our strong allies in the region, despite the many times we have neglected them or caused them to be vulnerable.

Senators Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio are calling this a terrible decision that will have dire consequences.

There are also concerns for other groups made vulnerable by an American bug out.

Trump’s withdrawal order “stands to put Syria’s Christian community — who have been a target of ISIS — in mortal danger,” stated Tony Perkins, Family Research Council.

Given predictions from solid conservative sources the President is in legal jeopardy—right or wrong—leading to likely impeachment, and in view of his faltering regarding The Wall, plus his complete neglect of the lethal national debt and wildly out of control federal spending, we may be looking at the implosion of a Presidency, caused largely by the President himself.

One seasoned analyst got right to the point today: “The President has run amok.” Michael Reagan
