Dear CNN: Trump Just Pledged $10B To Build Out Central America & Mexico – Is That ‘Racism?’

How will the Left vilify Trump THIS time?

The goalposts on any Trump policy move so often they might as well be made of smoke. With every breath of wind, they’re somewhere new.

What have we seen so far? We’ve seen an argument that goes like this:

Trump “hates brown people”. He’s opposed to people coming here for a better life.

So America is better than other places?

No. It’s not. And how dare you call other places a s**thole.

So they can stay where they are?

No. They have to come here for asylum because those other places are crime-infested hell-holes.

So how about we only process asylum claims that go through lawful channels so that coyotes aren’t exploiting the need, ignorance or desperation of hopeful migrants.

No. Even illegal immigrants have the right to claim asylum. Because nobody is really illegal, you miserable bigot.

Round and round we go. It never seems to stop.

There are two aspects to illegal immigration. The carrot and the stick. There is the incentive to come here, and the motivation to leave ‘there’.

While it isn’t the complete solution, building and enforcing the border addresses the incentive angle.

So would strictly-enforced meaningful penalties to any employer failing to use e-verify. Cutting off Federal funding to groups that pay lawyers fees for illegals seeking asylum, and social programs for those illegally present in America would all cut the DEMAND side.

Just like a surcharge on any money wired to the countries taking advantage of our porous southern border might act as a deterrent.

But what if things improve at the source? What if there’s work to be had in their native country, among the native soil and customs where their ancestors have been laid to rest?

Suddenly a dangerous overland trip where their daughters and wives will most likely be raped by highwaymen before arriving in America doesn’t seem quite so attractive.

Its a bit of a gamble. The sweat of our labor and industry will now be used to help out our neighbors to the South.

“The United States pledged $5.8 billion in aid and investment Tuesday for strengthening government and economic development in Central America and another $4.8 billion in development aid for southern Mexico,” the Associated Press (AP) reported.

“The U.S aid aims to promote better security conditions and job opportunities as part of a regional plan to allow Central Americans to remain in their countries and not have to emigrate,” the AP reported.

Mexican Foreign Relation Secretary ‎Marcelo Ebrard‎ read the State Department announcement aloud in the Mexican capital.

“In sum, I think this is good news, very good news for Mexico,” Ebrard said in the AP report.

“I have a dream that I want to see become a reality … that nobody will want to go work in the United States anymore,” newly inaugurated President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said at a press conference ahead of the announcement.

Obviously, we note that these programs take together are TWICE as expensive as what Trump was asking for the wall, and if we can afford THESE, surely we can work out some sort of an arrangement for that wall. Unless that’s exactly the point?

Could he be forcing Chancy’s hand (Chuck-and-Nancy’s) here and showing that their real aversion isn’t to the spending, but to US Border security, which yet again puts them on the record ignoring their alleged newfound commitment to ‘fiscal responsibility’ and proving to all of America that their opposition wasn’t to the spending at all, but it was EXPLICITLY to Trump’s interest border security itself?

Will we still find a way to get that wall, one way or another?

Is Trump just proving that their accusations of racism and “hating brown people’ is the lie we’ve always know it to be?

Just as important: how will his base react to a check for $10B being cut while we’re still waiting for funding for the wall to be built?

Maybe he’ll promise this and then hold it ransom as being contingent on that Big Beautiful Wall?

Surely Schumer wouldn’t be so “heartless” that he’d let his aversion to the wall stand in the way of a juicy handout to needy ‘brown’ people, in impoverished places, would he?

With Nancy set to take control of Congress, The President will have to find creative ways to get legislation passed. Maybe this is how he’s already setting up his first play.

What do you think? Is The President getting played, or is he a ‘Stable Genius’?
