LMAO: Barbasol Dropkicks Gillette’s Anti-Masculinity Commercial — ‘Listen, Hashtag…’

A company that makes products for men is actually standing up for men. How original.

Gillette had put out an ad about ‘toxic masculinity’ that backfired and hit them right where it hurt — in the wallet.

After the social media mockery, Gillette produced survey results that show that the ad was generally approved by consumers. The caveat — the survey takers were predominantly women.

Back in 2013, Barbasol, the shaving cream company, decided to embrace what it is to be a man and mocked the current pansified generation at the same time.

The ad looked back to The Greatest Generation and why they were so great.

It begins with a soldier in World War II speaking to the camera and his millennial great-grandson.

Oh, hey buddy! It’s your great-grandad here. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m kinda busy fighting for your freedom in this little thing called the Second World War.

But now, you’re using that freedom to fight celebrities on… Twitter?

Listen, Hashtag, if you’re not going to fight like a man, at least shave like a man.

Stop LOLing everything!

Watch:

Why was the Greatest Generation so great?

Here are a few lessons for the millennial tinkerpots:

1. Take responsibility for your life.
2. Be frugal.
3. Be humble.
4. Love loyalty.
5. Work hard.
6. Embrace challenge.
7. Don’t make life so damned complicated.

Those are lessons from Grandpas that kids these days really need to learn.

We can certainly learn a lot from those who have schlepped this pebble a bit longer than we have.

Sometimes, that ‘Grandpa Wisdom’ is just the right remedy for the nonsense of this generation.

Does your grandpa go off on paltry politicians, whether they be Democrats or Republicans? Does he get misty eyed when he talks about God and Country and America’s future? And have you ever heard him scream, ‘Awww … Hell no!’ when Rosie O’Donnell starts yapping on television? If you answered yes to one, or all of the above, then your gramps will love Doug Giles’ latest book, My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass.

Don’t be fooled by the title — this ain’t just for Grandpa.
The Snowflake Generation — and the rest of America — needs a good ol’ dose of ‘Grandpa wisdom’.
Especially if that Grandpa is Doug Giles.
You’ll love My Grandpa Is A Patriotic Badass just as much as Grandpa will.
