An honest journalist gives her assessment of the industry’s blind spots; an assessment that could be ‘career suicide’.
Champagne-sipping elites in the Beltway Bubble (looking at YOU, Jim Acosta) are congratulating themselves for heroic stands facing the dangers of being a ‘woke’ journalist leading the #resist effort in Washington.
Meanwhile, in the real world, Lara Logan has been a genuinely heroic journalist.
She has not only faced dangerous situations but has paid an enormous price for bringing the news of the day during a riot in Egypt where a mob of 200-300 men at Tahrir Square abused her in the most personal, violent and degrading way for close to an hour.
If society wants to celebrate a ‘nevertheless she persisted’ story about a woman overcoming rape culture and toxic masculinity, look to her example. But since that doesn’t push forward the preferred narrative, don’t expect too much to be said about it, even by her own colleagues. So much for that #MeToo solidarity.
As much physical danger as she was in what she said in THIS interview might just kill her career. Watch her talk about the ‘grey’ areas that are no longer reported, which is offered as proof positive of journalists no longer attempting to overcome their personal biases:
Most Journalists are Left-leaning, in America and worldwide, she said. But that’s not what she said that could endanger her career. Tearing the mask off and acknowledging outright media propaganda, on the other hand, could.
Logan added, “Although the media has historically always been left-leaning, we’ve abandoned our pretense — or at least the effort — to be objective, today. … We’ve become political activists, and some could argue propagandists, and there’s some merit to that.”
Logan cast Breitbart News as a useful barometer of “the other side” of news media:
This is the problem that I have. There’s one Fox, and there’s many, many, many more organizations on the left. … The problem is the weight of all these organizations on one side of the political spectrum. When you turn on your computer, or you walk past the TV, or you see a newspaper headline in the grocery store If they’re all saying the same thing, the weight of that convinces you that it’s true. You don’t question it, because everyone is saying it. Unless you seek out Breitbart on your computer, you’re probably not even going to know what the other side is saying.
Most news media outlets ignore the origins of ostensibly grassroots political activism, stated Logan. She pondered the geneses of such campaigns, speculating on technology firms’ roles in amplifying such campaigns:
We don’t even question if what we see on social media is real or not. We don’t even question if a grassroots movement is really grassroots. You know, there’s a way to start a grassroots movement. You write an algorithm, and you create all this outrage, and you’re basically throwing out all the sparks that light the fire, so then it becomes a grassroots movement because it takes nothing to set that in motion. But did it really begin as one? And if it didn’t begin that way, but was manipulated and paid for by someone and serves someone’s political purpose, is it really what we believe it is?
People were manipulated into doing that. … Who’s behind it? Who’s doing it, and why are they doing it? And what else are they doing? Those things are profoundly significant, and we’re not even trying to find out who it is. That really bothers me.
Logan dismissed news media claims allegedly rooted in singular anonymous government sources as unreliable. “That’s not journalism, it’s horseshit,” she said.
“Responsibility for fake news begins with us,” said Logan, referring to journalists and reporters.
She goes on to say how, after making one comment about Benghazi, Media Matters For America launched their attack at her. Who is MMFA? They’re David Brock’s Pro-Clinton propaganda organization.
They’re behind a very complicated — and surprisingly successful — political strategy to strangle right-wing news sources. The ‘fake news purge’ we saw on social media in 2018 was, literally, straight out of their playbook: MEDIA MATTERS WAR PLAN 2017
It’s a playbook written immediately in response to having lost the election in 2016.
That matches up pretty neatly with what Lara is saying about them, doesn’t it?

His policies are being described as the most conservative President we’ve seen since at least Reagan. And for all the media carping, and accusations, his popularity is on the rise.

The people WANT his strong leadership.
The people WANT his pro-growth, pro-freedom policies.
The people WANT America to once again embrace its top-dog role in the World Stage.
They want Trump for 2020.
