Nadler Launches Round Three of the Anti-Trump Cabal

In the wake of a fruitless two-year investigation of Donald Trump by the special counsel, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler is launching the third round of the illegal cabal against the president. “For two years,” Nadler said, “the Trump administration has been attacking the core functions of our democracy and the Congress has refused to do any oversight. We are going to find out, we are going to lay out the facts for the American people.”

Nadler said he plans to request documents from more than 60 people linked to the president because, “It’s our job to protect the rule of law. That’s our core function,” Nadler said. “And to do that we are going to initiate investigations into abuses of power, into corruption and into obstruction of justice.”

Instead of laying out the facts, Nadler outed himself as a liar. First, he alleged, “It’s very clear that the president obstructed justice.” Not conceivable, not possible, but “very clear.” When asked how Trump has obstructed justice, Nadler gave this feeble reply: “It’s very clear – 1,100 times he referred to the Mueller investigation as a witch hunt, he tried to protect Flynn from being investigated by the FBI. He fired Comey in order to stop the Russian thing. He’s threatened – he’s intimidated witnesses. In public.”

Then he contradicted his allegation with an outright admission that the evidence is not there. “We don’t have the facts yet,” he said, “but we’re going to initiate proper investigations.” We don’t have the facts “yet”—implying that the facts surely must exist if only Nadler can discover them.

When asked if he would accept a finding by the Mueller team that there was no evidence of collusion, Nadler replied: “This investigation goes far beyond collusion. We’ve seen all the Democratic norms that we depend on for Democratic government attacked by the administration.” Where is the proof, Jerry? Trump is the target of a politically motivated craving to bring down his administration. Nadler claims that his campaign against Trump is simply a search for the truth. Actually, it is a Stalinist effort to find wrongdoing even if none exists. The Democratic Party has levied an assault upon the Constitution by attempting to invalidate a bona fide presidential election.

Exposing the deception of Nadler’s position, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said on ABC’s This Week that “Congressman Nadler decided to impeach the president the day the president won the election.” Actually, the cabal began prior to the 2016 election. As Fox News host Gregg Jarrett explains in The Russia Hoax: The Illicit Scheme to Clear Hillary Clinton and Frame Donald Trump, a criminal conspiracy was perpetrated by unelected members of the federal bureaucracy, the Deep State, in order to destroy Donald Trump’s presidency. The first round of the cabal consisted of the scheme by top officials of the FBI and Obama’s Justice Department for the protection and then election of Hillary Clinton. We know from reading the emails of Peter Strzok and Lisa Page that high-ranking members of the FBI were working behind the scenes to ensure the defeat of Donald Trump. When that failed, they launched round two of the cabal—the special counsel investigation, which has not lived up to their expectations.

The cabal continued last Fall as the Democrats, urged on by Nancy Pelosi, threatened a full-frontal assault to obstruct Trump’s administration if they won control of the House in the midterm elections. The Dems are making good on their threat. “This will result in near-paralysis for the administration,” predicted the National Review.

Never a shrinking violet, the president lashed out against his detractors. “I am an innocent man,” Trump tweeted, “being persecuted by some very bad, conflicted & corrupt people in a Witch Hunt that is illegal & should never have been allowed to start – And only because I won the Election!” He is absolutely correct. The Democrats have not recovered from Trump’s election. As a political outsider sworn to “drain the swamp,” the president scares the pants off the Washington elite. They will do anything to protect their lucrative rackets, whether their tactics are legal or not. “When those who are entrusted to enforce the law, instead, abuse their power to pursue innocent people in the name of justice it is the worst kind of oppression,” Gregg Jarrett writes in The Russia Hoax.

The Democrats have no right to sabotage the Constitution just because they lost an election. The irony is that Nadler justifies his role in the anti-Trump cabal with the dubious argument that he is upholding the rule of law. Where were Nadler and his colleagues during eight years of abuses against the rule of law by the Obama administration? Hiding under a rock on Pennsylvania Avenue? It is proof that the Democratic Party worships a double standard.

While there is pressure from leftist groups for immediate impeachment of the president, the Democrats are “torn over what to do with it,” suggests Politico, “fearful that their efforts will backfire and end up helping Trump.” Public opinion may be on Trump’s side. Nadler himself warned that Democrats should not risk being accused of subverting the will of the people. If you impeach Trump, he said, “you don’t [want to] have half the country saying for the next 30 years: We won the election, you stole it.”

Collateral damage from the anti-Trump cabal includes the loss of confidence by the American public in our system of justice. If the powers of the federal government can be weaponized to sabotage a duly-elected president, where will it lead? When a government doesn’t have a crime but starts an investigation to find one, that’s called a police state. It is hard to believe, but Nadler and his party may be moving America one step closer to the totalitarian world of George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four. Beware—Big Brother Nadler is watching you.
