BUSTED: Hidden Camera Shows Pinterest ‘Blacklisting’ Conservative Sites

***UPDATE: YouTube removed the Project Veritas video after it was released.

YouTube censored a video from undercover journalism outlet Project Veritas featuring an interview with a Silicon Valley insider who revealed anti-Christian censorship at the social media platform Pinterest.

YouTube users who navigate to the Project Veritas interview are now met with a message informing them that the video is “no longer available due to a privacy claim by a third party.”

The video can still be accessed at Project Veritas’ website. It reveals that Pinterest added Bible verses to a “sensitive terms” list and censored a major pro-life website as “pornography.”

END UPDATE***

Conservative and Christian sites suffered several suppressive tactics… including assigning a Pro-life site to a ‘porn’ blacklist.

And once again, James O’Keefe convinced a Silicon Valley insider to play the role of whistleblower. The source’s identity was concealed in an attempt to protect him from backlash.

As a result, Twitter has now suspended Project Veritas for … journalism.

Twitter has temporarily suspended Project Veritas, a nonprofit organization that uses undercover journalism to expose corruption and unethical behavior in both public and private institutions.

Project Veritas received the following reasoning for their 12 hour suspension.“You may not publish or post other people’s private information without their express authorization and permission.”

“Twitter has decided that investigative journalism is in violation of their terms of service,” founder and president of Project Veritas, James O’Keefe, tweeted out this morning.

The ‘private information’ Project Veritas posted on Twitter was a product of their investigation into Pinterest. It consisted of a series of internal communications between members of the social media platform’s staff. Project Veritas gained access to the Pinterest’s communications via a whistleblower.

Project Veritas has been a thorn in the side for people with something to hide for some time… this time, he’s landed a source from Pinterest:

Project Veritas has received and published documents from an insider at Pinterest. The documents, which include product code, Slack messages, and internal policies, reveal terms and websites that Pinterest apparently censors.

In an interview, the Pinterest insider who leaked the documents explains how the company censors pro-life and Christian content on the website.

Said Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe:

“The documents we obtained raise questions about whether or not these tech companies really operate like neutral platforms, as opposed to publishers with editorial agendas.”

What was revealed by this whistleblower?

Ben Shapiro, and Orthodox Jew was a ‘white supremacist’.

LiveAction.org was added to a porn block list.

Project Veritas reviewed the list of websites from the “porn domain block list” and was able to confirm that along with LiveAction.org, websites like zerohedge.com, pjmedia.com, teaparty.org and other various conservative websites were also listed. The majority of the document lists pornographic websites.

Lila Rose, the founder and president of LiveAction claims that her organization has been censored in the past, and believes that pro-life organizations are unfairly targeted by social media companies:

“Pinterest says that their mission is to ‘help empower people to discover things that they love,’ but despite the fact that millions of people love babies and the pro-life cause, they are secretly censoring our life-affirming messages. Pinterest users deserve to know the truth and our messages deserve to be treated fairly.” Source: Tech Insider

Here is a copy that is still available (for now):

YouTube will probably remove that one as well since there is a privacy claim, but you can go directly to the Project Veritas website and find it there.

There is also a ‘sensitive terms list’.

Project Veritas reviewed the “Sensitive Terms List” and discovered that Christianity-related terms like “christian easter” and “bible verses” were marked as “brand unsafe.” The insider explained to Project Veritas in an interview that such terms are removed from auto-complete search results.

Another document Project Veritas received was a screenshot from an internal Slack channel at Pinterest, where Public Policy and Social Impact Manager Ifeoma Ozoma instructed others to monitor the platform for “white supremacist” content from individuals like conservative commentators Ben Shapiro and Candace Owens. Three days after Ozoma’s message, the terms “ben shapiro muslim” and “ben shapiro islam” were added to the “Sensitive Terms List.”

What would Shapiro have had to say about Islam? It may have been the 2014 Prager U video that was ENTIRELY based on Pew Research Data, and — going by that objective data alone — questioned just how ‘statistically moderate’ the moderates in Islam really are. An idea he revisited more recently.

Said the whistleblower:

“I think when public policies don’t match with how social media companies are actually implementing them, people have a right to know, people have a right to that transparency. And the thing is one person can make all the difference… one person can bring transparency to big tech.”

It’s time the protections they hide behind get revoked.

Newspapers, magazines and television are subject to various content laws, and expose the owners to liability. Phone companies, for example, exert zero control over what’s said over the phone, and are not subject to such laws.

Tech companies have been enjoying the protections of a platform (like the phone company) while exerting the control of an editor. The law is designed for an either/or existence.

Any number of conservatives have been blacklisted to silence their voices, and tilt the public conversation in favor of the Leftist ideology. This has the potentila to skew elections far more than a few targeted Russian ads ever could hope to skew them.

It’s pretty clear that’s a FEATURE, not a bug — or to say it another way, it is NOT accidental.

We have it from their own mouths:

So when they tell us ‘trust me’ … do you REALLY think we should?
