You know those ‘cages’ the Left are wringing their hands over? A former ICE official has something INTERESTING to say about them.
This whole brouhaha about the children and cages started with a single dishonest tweet from a former Obama speechwriter.
It was explicitly designed to bypass debate and guilt people into action.
The only PROBLEM was that the photos were from his boss’s time in the White House.
No matter. It didn’t take long for the Media(D) to take that cue, and find a way to weaponize it against Trump. (This, in case you’re wondering, is how Obama stays so ‘scandal-free’.)
The Leftosphere dutifully followed suit, painting Trump as a moral monster for what ‘he’ was ‘doing to children’. That political sleight-of-hand probably cost Republicans at least some seats in 2018, and perhaps even control of the House.
But what about the origin of those cages themselves? The ones that AOC and Ilhan Omar are so happily comparing to Auschwitz, Sobibor, and Treblinka?
I’ve been to that facility, where they talk about cages. That facility was built under President Obama under (Homeland Security) Secretary Jeh Johnson. I was there because I was there when it was built,” said Thomas Homan, who was Obama’s executive associate director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for nearly four years.
…[Homan] cited one Democratic chairman who asked a Trump official, “You still keeping kids in cages?”
Homan, at the conference hosted by the Center for Immigration Studies, said, “I would answer the question, ‘The kids are being housed in the same facility built under the Obama administration.’ If you want to call them cages, call them cages. But if the left wants to call them cages and the Democrats want to call them cages then they have to accept the fact that they were built and funded in FY 2015.”

This was Obama’s baby, then.
(Which is going to be one HELL of an albatross around Biden’s neck, don’t you think?)
So what exactly are these cages, anyway? Are they some kind of glorified dog kennels or something?
He said that there are no cages but chain-link fencing that separates kids from adults, done for safety. “It’s chain link dividers that keeps children separate from unrelated adults. It’s about protecting children,” he said.
What’s more, he said that it is only a holding facility until another agency that is part of Health and Human Services can collect them. But, he said, Congress hasn’t adequately funded HHS.
Oh, it’s a TEMPORARY holding place, with a fence divider to PROTECT the little ones from contact with strangers.
So, if the Democrats were ever to take an interest in STOPPING the flow of illegal entrants, this temporary holding problem will resolve itself.
Not that they would ever want to do THAT. Not when they can make so much political hay out of these suffering children. It’s election season, after all!
And before you complain about Trump’s ‘evil’ Immigration policy, be sure to weigh in on this one:
2014: President advocates for enforcing our sovereignty and curbing illegal immigration.
2019: President advocates for enforcing our sovereignty and curbing illegal immigration, but faces endless criticism for it.

They’re desperate to make Trump look like a moral monster, even when the things for which he’s blamed can be traced right back to themselves.
