The Democrats’ Web Of Lies

Thomas Jefferson wrote, in 1775, “He who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world’s believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good dispositions.”

The Democrats of today would do well to revisit this statement of one of their forefathers, though this 2019 edition would just as likely ban Jefferson as they would heed his words. Today’s Democrats and their media enablers have become the “depraved” of heart that Jefferson warned against as lies and misrepresentations flow freely from liberal lips.

Consider these…

Lie #1: Trump’s tweets about “The Squad” are racist.

This is the commonly accepted media and left-wing argument. The Washington Post, Vox,  and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the Democrat caucus in the House all agreed or stated they were. The reality, though, is much different than the left-wing lies. Holman W. Jenkins, in the Wall Street Journal on July 23, 2019, notes that fact. He bravely writes, “It is simply an assertion by Mr. Trump’s critics that he had racist intent.” He clearly points out that there is no mention of race in any of the tweets in question and to emphasize the two words “Go back” in a way that Trump may not have been thinking is disingenuous. It is not unreasonable to suggest that the president’s attack on “The Squad” had nothing to do with race. He counter-punches everyone, regardless of race or gender, who come against him.

Lie #2: Illegal Immigrants are drinking from the toilet in Texas

This lie comes to us from the darling of the Democrat-Socialists, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). On July 1, 2019, after visiting a US Customs and Border Protection facility in Texas, AOC declared, “Officers were keeping women in cells w/ no water & had told them to drink out of the toilets. This was them on their GOOD behavior in front of members of Congress.” This story was floated through the liberal media outlets without much challenge. Arizona Roy Villareal, a border patrol agent in Tucson, AZ, countered AOC’s charge. He said, “Aliens are not forced to drink out of a toilet. Aliens have options. Fresh water provided on a regular basis in a water cooler.” He also demonstrates in a video released to local news media that there is a combination of a toilet and a sink, which provides fresh water. He goes on to pour water from the sink into a cup and taking a drink before declaring: “There is nothing wrong with this water. We’re not forcing aliens to drink out of the toilet.” Once again, AOC is simply lying.

Lie #3: Trump broke the law and Mueller will help the Democrats Impeach

Michael J. Stern, in USA Today on July 23, 2019 surprisingly candidly wrote, “Despite pretense to the contrary, Robert Mueller’s upcoming testimony before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees is not about gathering new evidence. The former special counsel has already said that’s not on offer. Instead, Mueller’s scheduled appearance on Wednesday is a Democratic-sponsored public relations campaign. And it’s long overdue.”  It’s clear that the Democrats that will question Mueller today are not interested in getting information or truth. Stern’s flirtation with the truth in this article ends when he writes, “The primary questioning should be aimed at publicly debunking Trump’s false claim that Mueller’s investigation found ‘no collusion, no obstruction.'” I read the Mueller report as did numerous others. The American Bar Association writes about the Mueller report, “Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation did not find sufficient evidence that President Donald Trump’s campaign coordinated with Russia to influence the United States’ 2016 election and did not take a clear position on whether Trump obstructed justice.”

Flatly, the Mueller report says “no collusion.” Stern and others misrepresent the truth to claim otherwise. With respect to obstruction, the Mueller report made no conclusion. The Attorney General and the Assistant Attorney General “have concluded that the evidence developed during the Special Counsel’s investigation is not sufficient to establish that the President committed an obstruction-of-justice offense.”

As you read this, the Mueller testimony will be heard in the House. I am confident, hours before it happens, to predict that Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) and his cabal of Democrat attackers will lie and spin to try to find something upon which to hang an impeachment inquiry. I know. That’s not a bold prediction, is it?

Lies are the currency of today’s Democrat party and we haven’t even mentioned the circus of presidential candidates. These are just three of what might be an endless list. Remember the words of author Gary Hopkins when it comes to the Democrats. “Lies are like cockroaches, for every one you discover there are many more that are hidden.”
