BOOM: Bill Maher And ‘Factual Feminist’ Christina Hoff Sommers Discuss Where Feminism Has Gone WRONG

Do you think that modern feminism is going off the rails? You’re not alone. Check out this conversation…

On Friday’s ‘Real Time’ Bill Maher engaged in a much-needed discussion regarding the state of modern feminism with author, academic, podcast co-host, feminist critic, and Resident Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, Christina Hoff Sommers. She was also dubbed #BasedMom during the internet culture war, GamerGate.

Maher starts out by saying that Sommers was a guest several times on his previous show, Politically Incorrect. He says that the goal with his previous show was to eliminate political correctness and he thinks that he has failed miserably. Sommers says that she was hoping that she would help get feminism back on track and it now seems impossible to get back to the goal of equality.

They enumerated several ways in which contemporary feminists get things completely wrong. One of the problems is that feminists cannot be confronted because they don’t like to be exposed to different ideas. Sommers has become persona non grata in feminist circles despite embracing feminism in the 1970s. She explains that when she speaks at colleges, she has to have security guards and there are often “safe spaces” for those triggered by her speech.

She says that it is disheartening how women are being misled by “intense eccentrics” that are the thought-leaders of modern feminism who have become “female chauvinists” that blame men for “oppressing” women.

Sommers says that feminism has moved from the strong, Wonder Woman-style feminism to what she describes as “Fainting couch feminism.”

“American women, arguably, are among the freest, most self-determining in history,” said Sommers, but college professors tell students that “they need not equality from men, but protection from these toxic masculine hegemons.”

Sommers calls it “madness.”

That’s because it is madness.

This weakness is made clear in an anecdote that she gives about a woman at the University of Pennsylvania who says that she was “mini-raped” when a man told her that she had nice legs.

Geez, no wonder men are embracing the Pence Rule!

The fragility of the feminist movement on college campuses is not the only thing that they covered, either. They discussed the extreme nonsense that was born of the MeToo movement, the demonization of men and boys, and the myth of the Gender Pay Gap that continues to be perpetuated.

She says that this diminishes women.

Raising Righteous & Rowdy Girls

In ‘Raising Righteous and Rowdy Girls’, Doug Giles reinforces the notion that little women don’t need to be pampered by their fathers to turn out right. And having met his beautiful daughters, I know his philosophy works. As a strong-willed woman who thinks her daddy is the greatest guy in the world, I can tell you this is a must-read for every man who hopes to earn the same title. —-S.E. If I ever have daughters I m going to raise them up like Doug Giles has done: strong, proudly feminine, tough as nails, Proverbs 31 girls. Raising Righteous and Rowdy Girls is an excellent guide which shows how a father can raise up real women in a society that desperately needs them. —-Dana Loesch, Editor BigJournalism.com, Talk Radio Host, Television Commentator
