Nancy Pelosi play-acts at being motivated by her great love of the Constitution and saving the world from Donald Trump. She’s lying.
This isn’t the first time her party pretended to take the high road while explicitly undermining the national interests, though, is it?
Let’s start with the current one before strolling down memory lane.
There have been three votes held in the House about whether Trump should be impeached. EACH of those three votes came back with a ‘no’ vote. That ALONE should be reason enough NOT to proceed with the Shifty Soviet Showtrial… the House voted explicitly NOT to authorize it.
Why would someone with such blatant disregard for House rules care about such trivialities?
Only a few months ago, Pelosi ‘oppposed’ impeachment… at least officially. This, of course, was while they were still waiting to cash in on what Mueller could never deliver. When that didn’t pan out, they quickly transitioned to the next ‘scandal’.
Both they and their complicit ‘impeach Trump’ media allies in places like CNN and the NYTimes kept up a whisper campaign while they took the whistleblower story, whipping up public sentiment against him, dutifully repeating Schiff’s talking points until public opinion was where they want them to be.
The chairwoman of congressional Democrats’ campaign arm sent her colleagues a memo this week advising them on messaging tactics regarding impeachment.
Illinois Democratic Rep. Cheri Bustos’ memo, which she sent Thursday night, was quickly leaked to Axios and The Wall Street Journal.

She’s throwing a ‘lifeline’ of guidance to the Democrats in vulnerable pro-Trump districts, telling them it’s not politically dangerous to support calls to impeachment.
This comes from research conducted by the DCCC’s pollsters over the past weeks. It reaffirms the strong position Democrats hold on this issue, due to the focus and restraint with which our Caucus has approached this pressing and serious matter.

Translation: the ‘restraint’ they showed was merely tactical. Pelosi was in line with Rashida and the squad’s sentiment about impeaching the MF all along.
Recent polling in national and battleground surveys has demonstrated that voters’ views on impeachment have shifted since the summer, with support for the impeachment inquiry growing as Democrats consolidate support and independent voters reject President Trump’s actions regarding Ukraine,” the memo reads.
She then gives statistics for how polling has shifted in their tactical favor.
(This would explain Pelosi’s ‘strike while the iron is hot’ push to charge full speed ahead, rather than holding an orderly, transparent, due-process-respecting inquiry.)

After claiming that Democratic congressional candidates hold a “strong position” as they investigate Trump, the memo provided House Democrats with “message guidance.”
“When discussing Trump’s actions, keep the language simple, direct and values-based: President Trump abused his power and put himself above the law when he asked the Ukrainian President to interfere in the U.S. election,” the memo reads.

The Center for American Progress (CAP) Action Fund memo, which circulated Monday, called on Democrats to “refuse to offer any votes for Republican spending bills that do not offer a fix for Dreamers and instead appropriate funds to deport them.”
The memo from the left-leaning think tank also said that protecting DACA is not only a “moral imperative” but also a “critical component” in winning elections.
“The fight to protect Dreamers is not only a moral imperative, it is also a critical component of the Democratic Party’s future electoral success,” the memo read.
It finished, “If Democrats don’t try to do everything in their power to defend Dreamers, that will jeopardize Democrats’ electoral chances in 2018 and beyond.”
