Squad Update: Ethics Investigations, Racist Rants & Articles Of Impeachment… Tlaib Has Been Busy

• ‘The Squad’s chief skill is sucking the oxygen out of a room, and becoming the center of attention. Of course, the HOW isn’t always so great.

With AOC sinking into relative obscurity now that the brain behind her Twitter messaging has left the team, Tlaib and Omar have been in a dogfight for top spot in the infamy ranking. It’s been a running gun battle, and it’s too early to tell yet, who will win out.

This week, Rashida Tlaib seems to have pulled out ahead in the infamy category. The fact that she’s ‘flooding the zone’ with crazy news certainly helps.

First…

She has give us some more needlessly racialized politics. In fact, the ‘solution’ she is proposing here actually requires illegal racial discrimination.

Second…

She is now facing a possible ethics investigation.

The House Ethics Committee is reviewing the payments and may call a full investigation if impropriety is detected.

Questions over the payments were first reported by the Washington Free Beacon.

That report indicated that Tlaib paid herself a total of $17,500 through two payments after the election, dated November 16 and December 1.

She is pushing for articles of impeachment to be drafted sooner rather than later.

Freshman Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib appeared to clash with party leadership on Wednesday after joining protesters to say she’d introduce a resolution this month urging the Judiciary Committee to move forward with impeachment proceedings against President Trump.

Tlaib, D-Mich., joined protesters on Capitol Hill to described what she called an “emergency” conveyed to her by her constituents.

“We want to be able to work on these economic justice issues, racial justice issues and everything. But guess what? There is a wall there, and a constitutional crisis that is not going to be able to have us be able to do our jobs as American Congress members to push a lot of these agendas forward.”
