Rep. Adam Shciff’s Impeachment Process Is A Disgrace

The definition of disgrace is “to bring or reflect shame or reproach upon something”. In case you’re wondering, we’ll see “disgrace” on display in our nation’s capital as Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) opens his shameful impeachment hearing. Here’s what to watch for.

We already know the ending of this sorry spectacle before it begins. It will be a colossal waste of time and energy. The Democrats will lie and leak to any reporter they can find in an attempt to bring down the president. The media will breathlessly report daily, as if the world’s future depends on what they’re saying. The truth will struggle to see the light of day as the Republicans will be cut off as much as Schiff and the media can make happen. How does it end? I think we know.

Scott Jennings, a CNN contributor, is a former special assistant to President George W. Bush, nails it. He writes on the CNN opinion blog on November 4, 2019, “The Democratic-majority US House of Representatives, in partisan fashion, is all but certain to impeach President Donald Trump. The Republican-majority Senate, in partisan fashion, will almost certainly acquit him. And the net result will be that Democrats will have abused the US Constitution to satisfy political passions instead of approaching impeachment as the solemn act the framers intended.”

Here’s a reminder of the not-so-funny joke that passes for impeachment 2019.

The transcript is out there– The fact that “President Trump did not explicitly pressure the president of Ukraine for an investigation of Democratic front-runner Joseph R. Biden and his son in exchange for promised U.S. military aid” was established by the Washington Times on September 25, 2019, and that fact has not changed. The transcript released by the White House is clear and we can all read. Though we don’t need them or necessarily accept that they are “in the know,” the Democrats are hauling in a host of deep state, Never Trump associates to share their “opinions” of what they heard was on the call.

Several that have testified thus far have only heard second-hand what was said including the whistleblower who started this whole thing and who now, because he might implicate Schiff, is not being compelled to testify. What we’ll see, starting Wednesday, is the parade of “really smart people” telling us that despite what we’ve read to the contrary, the president engaged in a quid pro quo and, the newest manufactured accusation, bribery. Despite the fact that we can see how much good Trump has done for us and the US, they’ll insist that he’s awful and has to be removed for the good of the country. Truth is, they are lying, and we can see through it. They’re not really all that smart, they’re just filled with hate for Trump and for us. That’s simply a disgrace.

The hearings are sham– Rep. Schiff leads the charge for the Democrats and his hearings have been nothing short of a partisan attack. He began convening his hearings in a basement room of the Capitol. Throughout this process, Schiff has thwarted Republican attempts to question witnesses, share what has been said behind closed doors, or even call witnesses. One of Schiff’s henchmen, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY),  arrogantly tweeted his disapproval of the Republicans list of requested witnesses and told them his two cents. What was it? “GET LOST.”

This is not an attempt to ascertain truth. It is not an attempt to be fair or give due process. What will be on display across the cable networks is the latest attempt to overturn an election. It is the result of the never-ending tantrum the left and the media have been throwing since November 2016. Why do they do it? They hate Trump and those of us who voted for him. They tried Russian collusion, Mueller and his report, and a host of other schemes that failed. Impeachment is just the next desperate, despicable play. Disgrace isn’t really strong enough to describe this level of conduct.

They fear 2020– More than anything, the Democrats and their media accomplices are scared of what 2020 might bring. Their list of presidential candidates has been less than inspiring and, while sham polls attempt to shape public opinion, they’re frightened they might not win.

Michael Bloomberg is considering entering the race because he’s convinced the others can’t beat Trump. The Democrats and the media believe this might be the only way to get Trump. They can’t get him out of office (without huge Republican defections in the Senate), but they hope they can muddy and bloody him enough to make him unelectable.

Some in the media have questioned whether our forefathers would have proceeded with this impeachment. Many of the learned (and liberal) elites have “harrumphed” their assertion that they most assuredly would.

I think the answer to this, though, is absolutely not. Our forefathers stood up against elites who thought they knew more than regular people. Our forefathers did not want impeachment to be a partisan tool to be utilized after an election loss. Our forefathers would have stood with the people (you and me) who’s vote should not be nullified, nor whose voice should be silenced.  If you watch the disgraceful circus that is playing the capital, just remember who the clowns are.
