Is this REALLY the outcome she was hoping for? The albatross they were trying to hang around Trump’s neck is weighing down the Democrat party.
And she’s too far in to just ‘take the L’. She’s got no choice but to double down… even if she knows her desperate gambit bears a striking resemblance to that ending of Thelma and Louise.
Mere months ago, Democrats both elected and on TV were crowing that the public supported them and their impeachment efforts.
Back then, not only did more people support than oppose ‘impeach and remove’, but all of the leading Democrats’ 2020 candidates led Trump in a hypothetical 2020 General Ballot.
That was then.
What about now, as they assemble to deliberate and debate before a final vote on these articles of impeachment.

As they prepare to impeach Trump, this writer can’t help but remember the taunt of Br’er Rabbit ‘Please, don’t throw me into the briar patch!’
