Zuckerberg Pledges New Direction For FB, Soros Demanding Zuck’s Removal

Anyone who does something that pisses off Soros, can’t be all bad, right?

Facebook’s heavy-handed culture of censorship may finally be coming to an end.

This will come either as cold comfort or as ‘much to the relief’ of the many conservative sites that have found themselves eating the blunt end of that pool cue and — in many instances — having gone completely dark.

The controversial CEO, 35, made the claim during a fiery appearance at the Silicon Slopes Tech Summit in Utah on Friday.

Zuckerberg told the audience that Facebook had previously tried to resist moves that would be branded as ‘too offensive’ – but says he now believes he is being asked to partake in ‘excessive censorship’.

‘Increasingly we’re getting called to censor a lot of different kinds of content that makes me really uncomfortable,’ he claimed.

‘We’re going to take down the content that’s really harmful, but the line needs to be held at some point’.

The Facebook founder went on to bemoan: ‘It kind of feels like the list of things that you’re not allowed to say socially keeps on growing, and I’m not really okay with that’.

He then declared: ‘This is the new approach [free expression], and I think it’s going to piss off a lot of people. But frankly the old approach was pissing off a lot of people too, so let’s try something different’.

This isn’t sitting well with the left’s favorite authoritarian sugar-daddy, George Soros.

As Axios reported about Soros’ response of Zuckerberg pledging NOT to ‘fact check’ political ads:

“I believe that Mr. Trump and Facebook’s chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, realize their interests are aligned — the president’s in winning elections, Mr. Zuckerberg’s in making money … Facebook’s decision not to require fact-checking for political candidates’ advertising in 2020 has flung open the door for false, manipulated, extreme and incendiary statements.”
— George Soros
What he’s saying: Soros suggested that Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg “follow only one guiding principle: maximize profits irrespective of the consequences.”

“I expressed my fear that with Facebook’s help, Mr. Trump will win the 2020 election. The recent hiring of a right-wing figure to help manage its news tab has reinforced those fears.”
The bottom line: “The responsible approach is self-evident. Facebook is a publisher not just a neutral moderator or ‘platform.’ It should be held accountable for the content that appears on its site,” Soros wrote.

“One way or another, [Zuckerberg and Sandberg] should not be left in control of Facebook.”

Translation — if you won’t help Soros achieve his political goals, you are an enemy deserving of destruction.

And we have seen — in writing — the sort of plans people like him will cook up to destroy anyone who stands in the way of their political agendas: MEDIA MATTERS WAR PLAN 2017

Anyone paying attention to the cancel culture sweeping the internet will recognize a great many details of that left-wing Media Matters ‘war plan’.

The threats to remove Zuckerberg from the company he himself created the minute he stops toe-ing the ‘woke’ line are spoken like one supremely arrogant SOB who thinks his money entitles him a right to run the planet, whatever his rivals might say to the contrary.

Facebook pulled the plug on ClashDaily and 800 other conservative sites some time ago and has been gunning for the rest of them ever since.

Our own Big Dawg, Doug Giles, spoke about it at the time.
