Democrats are furious that President Trump’s Big, Beautiful Wall™ is being built along the southern border.
One key promise that President Trump made in his 2016 Presidential campaign was the construction of a wall along the southern border to prevent thousands of illegal immigrants from crossing illegally into the United States.
Democrats and RINOs have done all that they could through Congress and even the courts to prevent the wall from being built by refusing to fund it–and although they managed to stall construction, it’s finally happening.
The Trump administration has a stated goal of completing 450 miles of border wall by the end of the year and has already accomplished 182 miles of that goal. Construction is ramping up–it was only in January that the administration noted that 100 miles of the wall but surpassed 150 miles last month.
It would seem that the pandemic hasn’t interfered in the construction of the border wall much to the horror of the Lockdown Leftists.
“This pandemic has not slowed the construction of the border wall system. In fact, we’re increasing the pace of construction,” Acting CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan said. “COVID-19 should be a wake-up call for all Americans that border security is national security. Preventing and slowing down the introduction of a deadly virus into the U.S. from outside our borders is exactly why border security matters, and why the wall matters.”…
…“Border security is national security and the border wall system is a priority in protecting the American people. We’ve been consistent about our need for a wall, and we are full steam ahead on its construction,” he said, in written responses to questions from Fox News.
This is absolutely correct. Border security does indeed matter and allowing unfettered illegal immigration along the southern border is a real problem.
The Trump administration has put a high priority on border security–including building The Wall.
Democrats have criticized this move this time using the pandemic as an excuse to starve the wall construction of further funding. According to POLITICO, last month, dozens of House and Senate Democrats wrote to the Trump administration that as much funding as possible should be going to the coronavirus response.
“Money that should be invested in health care, small businesses and fighting the spread of COVID-19 is instead being used to build an ineffective and wasteful border wall that does not solve our immigration crisis or protect our homeland,” wrote the lawmakers. They continued, “We should be using all resources and funding to combat this virus and protect Americans, instead of using critical funding and resources to continue the construction of a border wall.”
But The Wall is already assisting in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.
As a matter of fact, there are some officials in California that are very concerned about the lax border control and want it tightened up as the virus is rapidly spreading in Mexico.

What? You mean actually knowing who is coming across the border and whether or not they have an infectious disease is important?
Who could have possibly imagined that that would be the case!
“The border wall system is and will remain a top priority. It is an integral tool [that] improves CBP’s operational capacity with every mile of steel put into the ground to effectively impede and deny who and what is coming through our borders that may cause harm to our nation’s citizens, including infectious diseases like COVID-19,” Morgan said…
…“CBP has dealt with a variety of infectious disease threats in the past and it is undeniably a health security and national security matter,” he said. “The border wall system has helped us stem the spread of COVID-19.”

Look, the immigration system is complex and certainly needs some reform, but we’ve still got to deal with the people that are crossing illegally.
If we don’t address the situation, it means that our immigration laws don’t matter. What does that say to the thousands of people who choose to respect our immigration laws and go through the process the right way? It basically says that they’re chumps.
Illegal immigration also supports human traffickers like the coyotes who don’t give a damn about the people that they’re “helping” to thwart immigration law. A vast number of women and girls are sexually assaulted in that dangerous journey across the border. You’d think the left would give a half-a-damn about them. But they don’t–if I were a leftist, I’d say it’s probably because “Consuela” is a brown woman so she doesn’t really matter. But I’m not going to accuse the left of racism–they proclaim it with their own policies.
Building The Wall is a good thing, and we need to keep it coming!
This was one campaign promise that really resonated with many Americans–including Hispanic Americans.
If the Trump administration keeps it up, it’ll be a great example of “Promises Made–Promises Kept”.
