President Trump’s approval numbers are rising again, especially among independent voters. CNN’s Chris Cillizza was loathe to admit this, but had to concede “Be wary of conventional wisdom. Especially when it concerns Trump.”
I found this story referenced on Twitter and did a cursory glance through the replies which revealed left-wing angst and vile hate against the president and those of us who support him.
The facts, though, are just that, facts. So, why after all the lies and attacks by the media is the president’s approval rating going up? I believe it has to do with the fact (there’s that word that the left hates) that the American people are much wiser than the liberals believe. Among a myriad of reasons, here are two big ones.
First, President Trump recognizes that Americans need to get back to work and the economy has to reopen. The White House tweeted on May 5, 2020, “Two months ago, the United States had the greatest economy in its history. And we’re going to do it again.” In this tweet and countless others, the president signals regular Americans that he understands the situation that faces our country. He has done that can be done to battle the pandemic and the American people understand the serious nature of the health risks and have done what they were asked to do to flatten the curve. Now the president must turn his attention to the other threat this pandemic brings, the economic one.
President Trump is engaging the battle on both sides while the Democrats, emboldened by the media, are becoming the party of shutdowns and economic misery. Democrat governors are resisting attempts to reopen states, while Republican governors are eager to get people back to work. The people get the difference and know who is on their side. It is as if the Democrats and the media don’t care about how long you or your family suffers if they can use this pandemic to defeat President Trump.
Second, the Democrats, themselves, are imploding. Joe Biden is embroiled in a sexual harassment charge. In response, many Democrats and media elite have embraced hypocrisy to loudly proclaim, “I believe Joe.” However, what is troubling for the Democrats is that nearly 25% of the party believes “Joe Has to Go.” They think Tara Reade is telling the truth.
Did Joe Biden rape Tara Reade? I don’t know. There is a lot more evidence against Biden than there ever was against Justice Kavanaugh. Some Democrats are now trying to proclaim the ridiculous position that they believe Tara Reade but support Biden anyway. The latest of these mind-boggling statements comes from Linda Hirshman in the New York Times. Her message for women in a time when we have no tolerance for sexual harassment much less rape is to “Suck it up and make the utilitarian bargain.” That’s right. Some Democrats are saying it doesn’t matter that Joe might be rapist, he could beat Trump. The American people are seeing through this hypocritical garbage and understanding the motivations of many of the left and the media. Once again, facts don’t matter to the Democrats and the media. They are not interested in truth and have no desire to seek it out. The split among the Democrats, however, only helps President Trump and the GOP.
What does all this mean? President Trump is winning. There’s uncertainty about whether Biden will be the nominee in the fall and, if he is, there is a groundswell of liberals who will never vote for him. If the reopening of the nation’s economy goes well, the groundwork is being laid for the GOP to win bigly in November 2020.
