Mayor Bowser is deep into the process of giving the villain from Super Mario Bros. a bad name.
She isn’t even trying to hide her priorities anymore. Not only is she going out of her way to goad the President with her partisan street paintings (for a movement that funnels money into Democrat causes) and renaming of streets, but she is now opposed to any show of national patriotism.
Said differently, she is cheering on events that would deepen the rifts that divide us, and discouraging participation in those few points of common ground around which we can all rally.
The mayor of the country’s capital city now is actively discouraging attendance for Independence day celebrations.

…with nary a concern about social distancing. She wasn’t even wearing her mask in this video.
If she clearly doesn’t give a damn about the spread of COVID, there are only two explanations left for why she would tell people to stay home. Three if you combine the two.
One: she wants to make Trump look bad.
Two: she, like so many others, has been taught to hate America itself.
