The Jesus of scripture wasn’t the doe-eyed, hippy spouting aphorisms. He was a righteous, rowdy, rabble-rousing rebel.
We’ve been fed a sissified Jesus through centuries of the toxic twosome of terrible teaching and atrocious art. It’s shaped our view of who Jesus is and, by extension, who we are.
What Would Jesus Do? Not what the church is doing in many cases. Too often Christianity is “bending the knee” to our crappy culture.
When we’re told that our beliefs must conform to culture, some Christians cave on their convictions. That’s not Christ-like.
There is only One to Whom we are to “bend the knee” — God.
Jesus was as bold as a lion and pushed back on the consensus cultural and religious norms. He blasted politicians, religious leaders, and even satan himself.
Jesus was a provider, protector, hunter, and hero.
