New COVID Drug Study Has Leftists Eating Their Words… When’s The Apology?
It isn’t Trump who has blood on his hands after COVID after all. It’s his opponents that will need to explain why cheap and effective drugs were NOT used to save American lives.
This writer, for one, NEVER wants to hear the term ‘Trumpvirus’ ever again. Or accusations that the body count is Trump’s fault. Judging by this study, if they had taken his advice, a lot more Americans would be alive today.
Not only did Leftist make the wrong call by endangering elderly patients, sending COVID positive patients (and workers!) into nursing homes… they did more than that.
They demonized and forbade the one drug that showed early signs of promise in helping sick and dying patients recover. A drug we NOW know can slash the mortality rate of Wuhan Coronavirus.
Trump didn’t pull his support for the antimalarial drug out of thin air, he looked at a Lancet study out of France. Then another Lancet study discredited it — before it turned out THAT study was entirely bogus. But the damage was done, studies of HCQ had been discontinued.
A Henry Ford Health System study shows the controversial anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine helps lower the death rate of COVID-19 patients, the Detroit-based health system said Thursday.
Officials with the Michigan health system said the study found the drug “significantly” decreased the death rate of patients involved in the analysis.
The study analyzed 2,541 patients hospitalized among the system’s six hospitals between March 10 and May 2 and found 13% of those treated with hydroxychloroquine died while 26% of those who did not receive the drug died.
Among all patients in the study, there was an overall in-hospital mortality rate of 18%, and many who died had underlying conditions that put them at greater risk, according to Henry Ford Health System. Globally, the mortality rate for hospitalized patients is between 10% and 30%, and it’s 58% among those in the intensive care unit or on a ventilator.
…The study found about 20% of patients treated with a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin died and 22% who were treated with azithromycin alone compared with the 26% of patients who died after not being treated with either medication. –DetroitNews [emphasis added]
