Kamala Harris’ Hypocrisy About Sexual Assault

Written by K. Walker on September 9, 2020

William Shakespeare wrote in Hamlet, “God hath given you one face, and you make yourself another.”

That’s a literary way of saying, “you are a hypocrite.”  Either way you say it, it applies to Democrat Vice Presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA). Her recent interaction with Jacob Blake and his family in Wisconsin reeks of  “double-face.”

The issue is sexual assault. If you only watch the left-wing media, you may not know that Jacob Blake has been charged with sexual assault. In fact, that’s why the interaction with the Kenosha police happened. They were called by the woman whom he had allegedly assaulted when he violated the restraining order prohibiting him from going to her house.

On September 5, 2020, Blake appeared virtually in court and waived his right to a preliminary hearing. The court found probable cause Blake committed a felony and bound him over for trial which jury selection will begin on November 9th. Blake’s next court appearance is October 21, 2020.

The preceding paragraph is simply the facts of the case. It’s the story, though, that the left does not want to tell.

On Monday, September 7, 2020, Sen. Harris visited Kenosha and spoke with Jacob Blake and his family. What did she say?

“I mean, they’re an incredible family. And what they’ve endured, and they just do it with such dignity and grace. And you know, they’re carrying the weight of a lot of voices on their shoulders.”

CNN reported, “The senator said her message to the family was about expressing concern for their “well-being and of course for their brother and son’s well-being. Let them know that they have support.”

CNN continues, “In a moving moment, Jacob Jr. told Sen. Harris that he was proud of her, and the senator told Jacob she was also proud of him and how he is working through his pain.”

Did you catch that?  Harris told Jacob Blake that “she was proud of him.”

I find it fascinating that Harris did not visit or speak to the woman that Blake is accused of assaulting, the whole reason for the terrible episode.

That’s a bit odd, I think. This is the woman who said of victims of sexual assault, “I believe them, and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it.”

Harris’ venom about alleged sexual assault perpetrators seems to only come out selectively. She viciously questioned Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his confirmation hearing and dismissively wrote, “The Judge Kavanaugh the American people saw before the Judiciary Committee does not have the character, the temperament, or the judgment to sit on the highest court in our land.” She called Dr. Christine Blasey-Ford’s accusations “credible” and “serious” and bemoaned how the charges of sexual assault were not being taken seriously.

Sen. Kamala Harris is a fighter for women who may have been sexually assaulted. She’s their champion, until she isn’t.  Courtney Swanson wrote on December 5, 2019, “ Kamala Harris’s candidacy meant the world to sexual assault survivors like me.” She praised Sen. Harris’ attacks on Justice Kavanaugh.

I guess, though, Swanson and those like her were duped. Sen. Harris’ defense of sexual assault victims is conditional.

If you can be used by Black Lives Matter to facilitate outrage; foment hate; and stir up riots, then it doesn’t matter what you do to women. It bears noting that, to this point, neither Harris nor Joe Biden have spoken to Blake’s alleged victim, nor have they spoken up for her.

Hypocritical to say the least. A more accurate descriptor might be disgusting or reprehensible. This, though, is the Democrat ticket. In my view, the head of the Democrat ticket is an accused sexual harasser and the second is proud of those accused of sexual assault. The choice is clear for November 3rd.
