Trump, Melania Test Positive For COVID After Staffer Tested Positive — Here’s The 411
Hope Hicks got sick. That was the first storm cloud on the horizon.
She was traveling with the Trump team as he continued his campaign work. Because of the close proximity Trump and others had, flying by helicopter, for instance, they were at high risk of having contracted it.
The President and Melania announced that they would quarantine while they awaited a result.
He offered supportive words for Hope:
Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!

And then he made his announcement.
Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!

We are reminded of the comparative good health he has been enjoying for a man of his age, without any known risky comorbidities other than the extra weight he’s been carrying.

How did the Left react to the news?
Predictably, the worst instincts of the public have come to the forefront, and many on the left are celebrating the President’s illness. Literally celebrating.
There are enough doing so that ‘Karma’ was the trending term on Twitter shortly after the announcement.
We remind you about the comparatively respectful reaction of the Right upon the passing of several high-profile Democrats in the past year… as opposed to the ‘I hate you and want you to die’ reaction of the ‘you go low we go high’ crowd.
They danced on the grave of a Koch brother, cheering his death.
If you think cheering the injury, illness of death of your political rival is the behavior of the ‘good guys’, there’s not much more we can tell you.
Only that if you’re someone who plays that game, don’t bother lecturing the rest of us on humanity, decency, or morality ever again.
