If it weren’t for double standards, Democrats wouldn’t have any at all. They love to dish out draconian regulations but don’t expect these tinpot tyrants to actually follow any of them.
The French Laundry example was a pretty glaring one — partly because it wasn’t just Newsome at a hoity-toity place with overpriced gnocchi, but some of his health officials, too. But Mousse-ilini isn’t the only petty potentate who got his knuckles rapped for blowing off his own rules.
Nor were Nancy ‘blowout’ Pelosi, or Dianne Feinstein.
Here are a few other examples:
DC Mayor Bowser says her trip to Delaware for Biden’s victory speech was “absolutely” essential: “I do a lot of things to advance the interests of the District of Columbia. And some of them are formal, and some of them are informal, but all of them are necessary.” pic.twitter.com/Xsk2psqjfD

Chicago Mayor @LoriLightfoot defends celebrating with a large crowd when the media called the race for Biden despite her own rules about mass gatherings:

Restaurant owners are among the hardest hit by the pandemic. I’m sorry if my decision hurt those who’ve worked to keep their businesses going under difficult circumstances. Looking forward to reopening indoor dining soon and visiting my favorite spots. https://t.co/Ki3lIZV8i4

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham reportedly made a purchase from a retail jewelry store last month, at the same time she ordered many industries to temporarily close following her statewide public health order.

There was the interstate travel by the better-than-you Governor of Illinois and his family…
Illinois Democrat Governor, J.B. Pritzker, lost his cool in a press conference Thursday afternoon after a reporter from a local news outlet dared to ask why he allowed his family to travel to Florida to wait out the coronavirus pandemic at their $12 million dollar “horse estate” while most “non-essential” travel for Illinois residents is barred. —DailyWire
Or Governor Whitmer…
Tyrannical Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order that banned regular Michiganders from traveling between residences in the state. Whitmer banned travel to summer homes.
Whitmer extended the ban on traveling to summer homes thru April 30th. The ban was lifted but Governor Whitmer begged Michiganders not to travel up north.

It was her husband.
Unless we missed some, our vote for runner up would come from this incident in LA…
On the same day she warned about the dangers of eating at restaurants and voted to support the shutdown of in-person dining in Los Angeles County, Supervisor Sheila Kuehl dined at a restaurant in Santa Monica.
The county health department earlier this month ordered restaurants to once again close for in-person dining, including outdoors, amid a surge in coronavirus cases. The Board of Supervisors later confirmed that decision in a 3-2 vote, rejecting an effort by two members to overrule the county’s health officer.
Kuehl was among the three that upheld the dining ban, saying at the time: “Outdoor dining is probably more dangerous in terms of contagion than any other kind of business.” —ABC
Top (dis)honors? By our metrics, they would go to the Mayor of Austin who told the good people of Austin they should stay home… from his swanky digs where he and his family were staying in Cabo.
So, should there be consequences for this kind of blatant hypocrisy?
