Florida Governor Ron DeSantis may not have written a book on leadership during a pandemic like New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has, but that’s because he’s too busy actually being a leader.

While Congresswoman AOC and Senator Kamala Harris jump the queue to take the vaccine ahead of those most vulnerable because of “continuity of government” Governor DeSantis is making sure that the people that need it most get it before he does.

Governor De Santis was asked by the press if he has taken the COVID vaccine yet, and his response is precisely the one that you’d expect from a real leader. Governor Cuomo should take notes should he want to revise his book.

GOV. DE SANTIS: No. So, what I’ve said is that I’m willing to take it, but I am not the priority. They’re the priority. I’m under 45. People under 45 are not going to be first in line for this, so when it’s my turn, I will take it. But this is who I want to be vaccinated — I want my parents, our grandparents to be able to get it. And you know, granted, I’m an elected official, but whoop-de-doo, at the end of the day, let’s focus where the risk is.

Governor Ron DeSantis asked if he has had the vaccine.

While his braggadocious counterpart in New York is given accolades and an Emmy Award, Governor DeSantis has taken a lot of heat for the way that he has handled the coronavirus pandemic. But if you examine the numbers, his state is doing exceptionally well. Especially when you consider the number of elderly people that head down to retire in Florida and all of the “mitigation efforts” like lockdowns pushed by Dr. Fauci were removed early on.

For example, if just “wearing the damned mask” saved lives as Joe Biden asserts, then please explain this chart:

There’s a lot that doesn’t make sense if you’re just listening to the “medical experts.”

Governor De Santis has been consistent from Day 1 that the elderly and those at highest risk should be protected and let the rest of the Floridians live their lives and take precautions as they see fit.

Somehow, Governor De Santis, who had the same information as Governor Cuomo know to protect the vulnerable in nursing homes and not seed them with COVID-positive patients and a supply of body bags.

That’s what a difference in approach can make.
