“The hottest places in Hell are reserved for those who in time of moral crisis preserve their neutrality.” This is said to be one of President John F. Kennedy’s favorite quotes. It is a paraphrase from part of Dante’s Inferno. I don’t believe a more accurate statement could be made than this one concerning the world we live in today.

The political left and their media allies went all in to make sure 2020 was not a repeat of 2016. Issues raised about the 2020 election, including the use of mail-in ballots, remain unanswered and may stay that way. President Biden is now in office and the Democrats are wasting no time in exacting revenge against political enemies.

An impeachment trial is set to begin in a couple of weeks against President Trump who is no longer in office. This is an unprecedented move, apparently so unusual that not even Chief Justice John Roberts will become involved. It is not about truth. It is not about unity. It is about revenge. The left and the media are filled with hate.

The purge of conservative voices in the public arena of ideas continues. The latest victim? Mike Lindell, the “My Pillow Guy.” Twitter banned him for life and announced, “The account you referenced has been permanently suspended due to repeated violations of our Civic Integrity Policy.”

While Lindell has been banned (along with President Trump), Iran’s Supreme Leader, Khamenei
and Louis Farrakhan retain their accounts. Twitter and other social media sites are not playing games. They are playing favorites.

John Brennan, former Obama official, chillingly said on MSNBC a few days ago, " I know looking forward that the members of the Biden team, who have been nominated or have been appointed, are now moving in laser-like fashion to try to uncover as much as they can about what looks very similar to insurgency movements that we’ve seen overseas. Where they germinate in different parts of the country, and they gain strength, and it brings together an unholy alliance, frequently, of religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, nativists — even libertarians."

Brennan, though he is not an official representative of the Biden administration, speaks for, what I think, is the whole of the left-wing. They want to target, smear and shame all who don’t think as they do.

What does all of this mean? It means that now, more than ever, there are two sides. Biden utters the word “unity,” but to him it means agree with me (and Kamala, of course) or you are wrong. While no one I know of is advocating violence or extremism in any way, I do think one cannot be neutral. We have to choose today to stand up for freedom. If we don’t, it may not be there.

How do we do that?

First, we must get rid of all Republicans who seek to curry favor with the Democrats or try to be neutral. Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Sen. Susan Collings (R-ME), Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) and Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) must be primaried and lose their seats.

Second, we have to take back the House and Senate. Quality candidates need to be recruited, vetted and funded. There is no margin for error. We cannot afford another Todd Akin situation like we had in 2012 in my home state of Missouri.

Third, we have to be engaged in the grassroots level of governance. Support quality school board candidates and local officials. Don’t cede races to the Democrats. The GOP controls more state legislatures than at any time. They must win the redistricting battle.

Not that politics ever was “bean bag,” but it certainly isn’t now. The Democrats are playing for keeps. They want to reform our country. All of us have to choose to resist or regret.
