Well, that’s rather embarrassing!
It looks like “The Interview” with Oprah wasn’t so successful after all.
First, there was the backlash with many critics of Meghan Markel’s claims about her experience as a Royal with many astounded at her astounding level of ignorance of all things Royal while others claiming that she was just lying.
Despite the incredulous claims made by the erstwhile Duke and Duchess of Sussex about the possible shade of their child’s skin before he was born, there were still some fans out there who truly felt that the multi-millionaire Prince and his divorcée-B-list-actress-turned-Princess wife were hard done by.
One of those people was Anastasia Hanson, a 56-year old resident of California, who was so moved by Harry’s whining that his father and Buckingham Palace has cut him off financially that she set up a GoFundMe page to pay off the mortgage on their swanky $14.65 million Montecito mansion that boasts 9 bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, and is a massive 18,000 square feet.
“When they came to the USA, they were without jobs and with limited funds,” said Hanson, who lives about 25 minutes from the princely pair’s palatial estate in swanky Montecito.
“They’ve stated that they’ve had a very rough time, so this fundraiser is a way to give help, compassion, and love by paying their home loan in full.”
Poor Prince Harry! He and his wife must somehow subsist on the £10 million (approx. $13.8 million) left to him by his mother, the $100 million Netflix contract for content production, $1 million per speech, and a podcast deal with Spotify estimated to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $15-$18 million. That doesn’t include Meghan’s income which already put her in the millionaire category before she married Harry.
Rough life.
Hanson’s GoFundMe page to lend a hand to the poor, poor Royals began just a few days ago and was shut down on Saturday after only three donations.
Hanson kicked in $5, while “A Supporter” gave $100 and “Anonymous” bestowed $5 on the fund.
The page had read, “I am Anastasia Hanson of Ventura, California and I am raising funds to pay off the mortgage for the Montecito, California home of Harry and Meghan.
“Were 2 million supporters to donate just $5 each, the Goal is met and the loan can be paid off. After their interview, I was moved with compassion to help get their home paid off. As they are now financially independent, this will help and be a loving gift.”

Oh dear! It looks like the 36-year old Harry and 39-year old Meghan are going to have to make it on their own.
But it looks like Meghan has A Plan — she is eyeing the White House. Rumors abound that she is considering running for President in 2024 on the Democratic ticket. That should be interesting. She’s going to have a helluva fight with Vice President Kamala Harris!
Maybe that’s why she’s so desperate for media coverage while complaining about media coverage — she wants to be President.
The odds don’t look so great if a GoFundMe campaign made in support of the Sussexes can’t get more than 3 donations.
