American Airlines is one of many corporations the left is using as a lever to force the American public to accept policies contrary to their will and the national interest.
The airline called the Lt. Governor of Texas in an attempt to lobby them about policy on election reform.
Georgia passed a law making it easier to vote and harder to cheat. It’s the law that Joe Biden and a gaggle of Democrats have denounced as ‘Jim Crow’, doubling down on that narrative even after WaPo gave that political talking point ‘four Pinnochios’.
The man who parroted Obama’s unity talking points seems no more committed to actually serving as a President of All Americans than Obama was… he’s actively lobbying for the boycott of one of the battleground states that (whatever you may think of the conditions surrounding it) landed him behind his irresolute desk.
But Red States are waking up to the stakes here and are unwilling to be so easily bullied.
We already believed that so many of these public statements by top company officials were nothing more than the dutiful recitation of talking points they are supposed to embrace. Now we have evidence that these ‘principled CEOs of conscience’ are nothing more than glorified talking dolls with a string in their back.
“As Lt. Governor of Texas, I am stunned that American Airlines would put out a statement saying ‘we are strongly opposed to this bill’ [Senate Bill 7] just minutes after their government relations representative called my office and admitted that neither he nor the American Airlines CEO had actually read the legislation.
“We heard these same outcries claiming voter suppression in 2011 when Texas passed the photo voter ID bill. In fact, just the opposite occurred. Voter turnout in Texas soared from 7,993,851 in 2012 to 11,133,040 in 2020, a 39 percent increase. Gubernatorial election voter turnout has increased by 76 percent since photo voter ID was passed.
“Texans are fed up with corporations that don’t share our values trying to dictate public policy. The majority of Texans support maintaining the integrity of our elections, which is why I made it a priority this legislative session. Senate Bill 7 inclueds comprehensive reforms that will ensure voting in Texas in consistent statewide and secure.
“By the way, this is the same American Airlines that in 2017 let the fight to try to force us to allow boys to play girls sports in Texas and take away their scholarships. They are probably still fighting for that today and it is likely they have not read Senate Bill 29 either.
