Nancy Pelosi’s self-righteous preening about ‘defending democracy’ from the ‘threat’ presented by those who supported Trump is coming back to bite her in the caboose.

The rationale behind demanding Trump be impeached (again) stemmed from angry rhetoric that Trump had incited violence… despite an explicit call to ‘march peaceably’.

Pelosi’s rush to ram through policies that are radically partisan have depended upon the razor-thin margin of majority she holds in the House. Every seat matters.

And now, we’re seeing one of those members whose votes she depends on doing exactly the sort of thing she claims that Trump was doing in January.

It puts her in a hard position, especially when a National Guardsman — the same guys who have been so heroically guarding the Capitol from some unnamed danger that might arise on the Right at any moment — was shot in a drive-by not long after Maxine Waters called for violence.

As a result, Marjorie Taylor Green — who Nancy stripped of her committee duties because of something she believed years ago, something which she has since renounced and apologized for — is putting forward a resolution to expel Maxine Waters.

One might argue that it’s only reasonable. Those who make the laws should not be encouraging the public to break them… or worse, doing so themselves.

In a statement emailed to Newsweek, Greene’s office said she announced plans to expel Waters “after the California Congresswoman invited Black Live [sic] Matter domestic terrorists to fire gun shots at National Guardsmen in Minnesota.”

“As a sitting United States Congresswoman, Rep. Maxine Waters threatened a jury demanding a guilty verdict and threatened violence if Chauvin is found not guilty. This is also an abuse of power,” Greene added.

Greene’s remarks on Sunday came hours after Waters joined hundreds of Black Lives Matter protesters around the 11 p.m. curfew on Saturday night to demonstrate outside the police department in the city of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. —NewsWeek

Unlike what was raised against MTGreene, there is a long history of such actions with Maxine.

In case there was any doubt as to what she might have done wrong, she provided a citation of the actual law that she believes was violated.

Threatening a jury or even just demanding a particular verdict should be enough, by itself, to prove someone is unfit to hold elected office. The other stuff is just underscoring the point.

Marjory Taylor Greene is still learning how not to step on the landmines that can undermine her message. But there’s no doubt that this lady’s got guts.

We could use more with her kind of fearlessness. A good way to GET that is by putting examples of great people into the hands of those wanting to be inspired by them.

Biblical Badasses: The Women

In Doug Giles’ latest book, Biblical Badasses: The Women, Giles spotlights ten epic ladies who did awesome things for God with the odds severely stacked against them. These girls weren’t your typical church ladies. They were holy movers and shakers who upset hell with their God-honoring, faith-filled, lives. Giles’ unique take on these terrific women makes the scripture come alive. This book is real, raw, relevant, and irreverent. Giles’ prayer is that after reading, Biblical Badasses: The Women, not only will your noggin be filled with these amazing tales of high and lows from real women who rocked in a hard place, via the power of God, but that you will get off your butt, quit pursuing stupidity, start chasing down your high calling and at the end of your life, you too, like the holy femme fatales featured herein, will have left a massive scar on Satan’s haggard backside.
