WATCH: CNN Medical Expert Accidentally Says The Quiet Part Out Loud — Freedoms Should Be Conditional On Vaccine Status

Whoops! A “medical expert” accidentally told the truth on CNN!

A brief clip of Dr. Leana Wen’s appearance on Cuomo Prime Time is being widely spread on social media because of her statements linking vaccination status to freedoms.

Dr. Wen, the former President of Planned Parenthood turned CNN “medical analyst” and contributing columnist for the Washington Post, accidentally told Chris Cuomo that the clock is ticking on conditioning freedom as an incentive to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

She says that reopening policies need to be tied to vaccination status because the vaccine is the “ticket to pre-pandemic life” and if you don’t do that, then people are just going to enjoy their freedoms anyway and, well, we just can’t have that happening. She seems to imply that it’s totally fine to take away freedoms for unvaccinated people.

DR. WEN: My main concern is that we’re not going to reach herd immunity because of vaccine hesitancy. And I know that’s hard for a lot of people to believe for people who desperately want the vaccine right now, and they’re thinking, “Oh, well, it’s just a small percentage of people who are actually anti-vaxxers.” And that’s true, there is that anti-science, anti-vaxxer contingent, but I think that there are many more people — millions of people — who, for whatever reason, have concerns about the vaccine who just don’t know what’s in it for them. And we need to make it clear to them that the vaccine is the ticket back to pre-pandemic life, and the window to doing that is really narrowing. I mean, you were mentioning, Chris, about how all these states are reopening — they’re reopening to 100 percent. And we have a very narrow window to tie reopening policy to vaccination status. Because, otherwise, if everything is reopened, then what’s the carrot going to be? How are we going to incentivize people to actually get the vaccine? So that’s why I think the CDC and the Biden administration needs to come out a lot bolder and say, “If you’re vaccinated, you can do all these things. Here are all these freedoms that you have.” Because otherwise, people will just go out and enjoy these freedoms anyway. And I fear a situation of coming into the fall where we never reach herd immunity. And then we get hit by the next surge of COVID-19 in the fall something that we could have prevented if we just had everyone vaccinated now.

It should be noted that as she advocates for freedoms to be contingent on vaccination status, Dr. Wen was part of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine trial.

This isn’t the first time that Dr. Wen has said the quiet part out loud — she was removed from her position at Planned Parenthood when she disagreed with the organization the focus should be on activism surrounding abortion rather than patient care. The idea that Planned Parenthood is providing “healthcare” when they are the largest provider of abortions nationwide is a different issue — the PP leadership was committed to dumping money, time, and advertising into political activism pushing abortion rather than the other aspects of patient care, and Dr. Wen didn’t agree with that so she had to go.

That’s not how freedoms work, Dr. Wen. The government doesn’t “grant” freedoms, they are there to protect them. That’s not how it’s been for the past year, but that’s because we’ve seen a bunch of petty dictators cling to power while claiming to follow The Science™ and silencing anyone who questions that “science” — even if they’re also medical experts.

This isn’t helping people “trust The Science™,” Dr. Wen.
