One of the sons of the founder of Hamas is urging the Israeli government to assassinate the Hamas leadership even though a ceasefire was brokered on Friday.

Mosab Hassan Yousef, 43, son of Hamas Founder, Hassan Yousef, says that although it wouldn’t “destroy” the terrorist organization, it would “teach them a lesson” before attacking again.

He says that “children have paid the price” and adds, “Hamas hates Israel more than they love their own children,” paraphrasing former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir.

Mosab Hassan recently spoke to the New York Post in a phone interview and said that Hamas doesn’t actually have the support in Gaza that people think that they do. He said that there is a “silent majority” in Gaza that don’t support Hamas, but they are afraid to speak out, “Hamas rules over them by the sword. If you oppose Hamas they will shoot you or hang you immediately. You and your family are finished.”

He also said that the sudden aggression does have something to do with the shift in U.S. policy in the Middle East. Hamas was disappointed that the Abraham Accords negotiated under the Trump administration had cut them out of the equation and that Middle East leaders understood Trump’s language very well. “It was the language of fire. He did not show lots of tolerance,” adding, “The seventh-century mentality of the Middle East misunderstands tolerance as weakness.”

“Assassinating Hamas leadership will not destroy Hamas, but it will teach them a lesson and hold them accountable,” Mosab Hassan Yousef told The Post in a phone interview. “Next time, before you get civilians on both sides involved in a bloodbath, you need to think 1,000 times. This is my personal suggestion.”

Mosab Yousef said top Hamas leaders like his father likely rode out the recent violence in secure underground bunkers, while using the deaths of their own people to score foreign propaganda points.

“Hundreds of children have paid the price. These type of people cannot get away with what they did. They should not feel safe for a day,” he said. “Hamas hates Israel more than they love their own children.”

Mosab Yousef, 43, said he follows regional developments closely, and attributed the latest round of violence to Hamas’ growing marginalization in recent years. The real estate dispute in East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood — the ostensible trigger of the current unrest — was just a pretext, he said.

“Hamas was very disappointed by the Abraham Accords that ignored them completely,” he said of the peace deals Israel signed with several Mideast states last year. “It’s the new reality that President Donald Trump made in the region. This is a new reality and Hamas is not prepared to accept it.”

Interestingly, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that the recent conflict between Hamas and Israel shows that the Abraham Accords were “dead on arrival” and the Biden administration is will revert to the failed Obama-era policies of maintaining the “longstanding security relationship with Israel” while providing “humanitarian and security assistance to Palestinians” so that Iran can continue its proxy war. (Although, she didn’t say that last bit out loud.) Of course, she’s wrong as Mosab Yousef noted to the Post.

Mosab Yousef had been groomed by his father to become a leader in Hamas, but in 1997, he began to secretly collaborate with Israel’s internal security service, Shin Bet. He was known as the “The Green Prince” and for 10 years he was one of Israel’s most valuable intelligence assets. He later converted to Christianity and sought political asylum in the United States, and became a citizen in 2018. He lives quietly in California.

In 2019, his brother, Suheib Yousef, also defected from Hamas and told Israeli media that he was tired of the corruption. He called Hamas a “racist terror organization that is dangerous for the Palestinian people.”

Mosab Yousef has not had any contact with his family since 2009 and has no plans to ever go back to Gaza since it would be a death sentence for him. He said that his father has “blessed” his assassination.

“[My father] publicly declared, ‘He is not my son’, which means if you want to get him, I am not going to stop you or come after you,” Mosab Yousef said.

“He made my blood halal.”

Wow! Talk about “Dad of the year!”

But then, this is a murderous terrorist who has alleged Israeli collaborators tortured and killed. And when he thinks the timing is right to attack Israel, he hides in his bunker while children in Gaza are hit with poorly aimed rockets by Hamas.

Yeah, the world would be better off without that guy.
