The exact questions ordinary citizens and credentialed scientists were de-platformed or denounced as conspiracy theorists for asking were already discussed by little lord Fauci himself.
The media was too busy elevating Fauci as the next Avanetti — would-be kryptonite to Trump’s re-election to bother asking whether the Prevaricating Authoritarian Smurf™ was actually on the level, or if he was too busy basking in the media adulation?
And then along came a FOIA request for Fauci’s pandemic-related emails from — of all people — Buzzfeed and WaPo. There is a certain delicious irony knowing that Buzzfeed were the same collection of leftist clowns who first got the ball rolling on weaponizing Russiagate.
When Rand Paul got a peek at what those emails contained, he couldn’t help but dunk on Fauci AND the dishonest press that had been running interference for him.
With the email dump, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Fauci was knowingly lying to the public — including lies that would potentially drive policy in catastrophic directions — with the absolute docile compliance of an unquestioningly adoring press.
As one heinous example, Fauci has sworn up and down under oath that there was no gain of function experimenting going on, in particular, no gain of function research that we were funding (directly or indirectly) in Whuhan’s lab.
But here is Dan Bongino reading one of the email conversations that turned up in the FOIA dump.
Oooh. Rand Paul is going to tear this guy to pieces the next time Fauci shows up in a hearing.
Even in the early going, when the genome had been mapped, experts who knew what they were looking at with the genome — and who were senior enough that they direct access to Fauci — raised concerns that this showed possible indications of NOT being naturally-occuring. Here is Fauci pushing back against the implications of that email.
But in January, Fauci was warned by researcher Kristian Anderson that the coronavirus had “unusual features.”
“The unusual features of the virus make up a really small part of the genome (<0.1%) so one has to look really closely at all the sequences to see that some of the features (potentially) look engineered,” Andersen, who runs a viral genomics lab at Scripps Research in La Jolla, Calif., wrote to Fauci on Jan. 31. Fauci on CNN said he still backs the “likelihood” that the virus was the result of animal to human transmission — and that “you can misconstrue” the email “however you want.” -- NYPost
Tony seems like he is trying to have it both ways, both that he’s got an open mind, and that he still believes the virus was naturally occurring and simply jumped from animals to humans.
From here in the cheap seats, it seems he was shooting straighter with us back when he was embarrassing himself on the pitcher’s mound than he is in how he’s been fielding any of these COVID accountability questions.
Headline: Fauci throws wild pitch.
Fact Check: Partly True.
