From the time he stepped down from his role running the Texas GOP chair, the unanswered question was … so is he running for Governor? The answer, officially now, is ‘yes’.
In a world where the left is busy trying to rewrite our history to magnify our faults and wash away our virtues, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Allen West is going in exactly the other direction.
West released a video launching his candidacy for Governor. In that video, he is explicitly anchoring his campaign in the robust history that so enriches both the Texan culture and identity.
He opens with a quote from the State song of Texas, and
Texas, Our Texas! all hail the mighty State!
Texas, Our Texas! so wonderful so great!
Boldest and grandest, withstanding ev’ry test
O Empire wide and glorious, you stand supremely blest.God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.
God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.
He looked to those words as the invitation and challenge for anyone who would endeavor to take up the mantle of leadership of the great state of Texas. He chose, as the defining word, ‘legacy’.
He ties in his own choice to call Texas his adopted home, together the places he’s been before to the broader sweep of the history of Texans who have gone before him.
As a Republican, he goes further to tell the story about 150 Black Republicans who helped launch the Texas GOP on Independence Day in 1867.
While the past couple of years has revealed Abbott’s leadership to be kind of a mixed bag, with solid wins on some fronts and serious missteps in others — like the violation of Constiutional rights during the pandemic paranoia — Republicans are looking to leadership whose judgment they can count on as being, well, more dependable.
“I’ve not been in elected political office for about a decade, but I can no longer sit on the sidelines and see what has happened in these United States of America and … the place that I call home,” said West, who served as Texas GOP chairman before stepping down to run for governor, in a video released on Independence Day.
West would become the first black Republican ever elected to be governor in any state in the nation if his challenge against Abbott is successful. P. B. S. Pinchback had previously served as Governor of Louisiana from 1872 to 1873 but he was appointed to the role and never elected through a vote of the people. West’s election would be a truly historic victory for Texas and the Republican Party in general. —BLP
Allen West is tried, tested, and true. Get your popcorn ready because this is about to get interesting.

If Masculinity Is ‘Toxic’, Call Jesus Radioactive
Much of the Left loathes masculinity and they love to paint Jesus as a non-offensive bearded woman who endorses their agenda. This book blows that nonsense all to hell. From the stonking laptop of bestselling author, Doug Giles, comes a new book that focuses on Jesus’ overt masculine traits like no other books have heretofore. It’s informative, bold, hilarious, and scary. Giles has concluded, after many years of scouring the scripture that, If Masculinity Is ‘Toxic’, Call Jesus Radioactive.
