Governor Cuomo has run out of political capital left to spend, his party knows it, and the sharks have started circling even within his own party.

It’s no secret that Republicans hate him — but in a state where even Pelosi admits most Dems have it so easy they could slap a ‘D’ on a glass of water and still win a seat, he has no reason to worry about that.

It’s only when the DEMS get ready to commandeer the ship of state and make him walk the plank that he has something to worry about. Well, guess what? He officially has something to worry about. He’s getting slaughtered in the polls. On Tuesday, 614 people were polled about Cuomo.

The [Marist] poll found 32% of New Yorkers believe Cuomo should finish his term, while 59% of all those polled – including 52% of registered Democrats – say he should resign from office following Attorney General Letitia James’ findings.

Between his botched handling of COVID, launching a book while a story broke about him hiding news about how his policies were killing elderly New Yorkers was bad.

Add to that we have a demoralized NYPD, people fleeing the city/state, rising crime rates (including murder), and problems like homelessness and IV drug use that have come back with a vengeance.

That’s the political reality he had to deal with. The personal one only added fuel to the fire.

He has a conga-line of women lined up to allege horrible things about the now unfortunately-named ‘Love Gov’ and his treatment of women.

He’s not the first Democrat to face such allegations by any means, but that’s a long list… in a post-Epstein/Weinstein MeToo era. A list that’s been given further credibility by the report released by New York’s current AG.

Two co-founders of the women’s advocacy group Time’s Up allegedly helped New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office draft a letter seeking to discredit allegations from one of his sexual harassment accusers, according to the AG report.

Cuomo’s staff reportedly sought the help of Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund founder Roberta Kaplan and Time’s Up CEO Tina Tchen while drafting a letter denying allegations made against the governor by former Cuomo aide Lyndsey Boylan.

Boylan had been the first of Cuomo’s accusers to come forward publicly in February with allegations that Cuomo had sexually harassed her, making comments on her looks and at one point asking her if she would play a game of strip poker with him.

Joe Biden — who was (to use the language the media used against Kavanaugh) ‘credibly accused’ of forcibly penetrating a female staffer’s body with his fingers has said Cuomo should resign. He’s not alone…

If he doesn’t resign, he’s going to face a call for impeachment. His odds don’t look good. Not at all.

A majority of state Assembly members said they will start impeachment proceedings against Gov. Andrew Cuomo if he doesn’t resign over investigative findings that he sexually harassed at least 11 women, according to an Associated Press count.

At least 83 of the Assembly’s 150 members have said publicly or told AP they favored initiating the process of ousting the third-term Democratic governor if he doesn’t quit. A simple majority is needed to authorize an impeachment trial.

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie said in a statement on Tuesday that Cuomo ‘can no longer remain in office’ and that the state’s legislative body ‘will move expeditiously and look to conclude our impeachment investigation as quickly as possible.’ —DailyMail

He’s so screwed.

It almost seems a little TOO tidy.

The side of this writer that has been taught to eye these situations with cynicism wonders… is there’s an element of the Governor Northam bait-and-switch going on here?

Northam was taking serious fire for having publicly supported infanticide. Planned Parenthood had already invested millions into helping him win the Governor’s race.

Suddenly, a yearbook appeared and got the world talking about blackface and Klan hoods instead of infanticide. Northam weathered the storm, said his little mea culpa over the yearbook insensitivities, and most everyone forgot about the infanticide.

Allegations of sexual impropriety are bad. But, from the party perspective, they are the ‘manageable’ kind of bad that doesn’t take the party down with it.

Catastrophic granny-killing COVID decisions, on the other hand are something he had in common with several other State Governors, and focus on Cuomo’s COVID failures only underscores just how far-sighted some of De Santis’s decisions to go out of his way to shield Florida’s retirement homes from careless or deliberate exposure to a virus that was laying waste to people in nursing homes really was.

The Democrats can’t afford that. They and their step-and-fetch media have De Santis playing the villain in their COVID narrative. That would ruin everything.
