BIDENFLATION: Clueless Joe Insists He’s ‘Making Progress’ On Rising Prices Despite The Worst Inflation In 40 Years

Bidenflation has risen to 7% — the highest increase since 1982, and the Shambling Husk of Mediocrity wants the peasants to be grateful that it’s not worse than that.
Tell me you’re completely out of touch with everyday Americans without telling me that you’re out of touch with everyday Americans.
On Wednesday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released its December Consumer Price Index (CPI) report that shows that the year-over-year increase in prices has hit 7% — the highest in 40 years.
It stated, “The all items index rose 7.0 percent for the 12 months ending December, the largest 12-month increase since the period ending June 1982.” (Emphasis added)
The report added, “The all items less food and energy index rose 5.5 percent, the largest 12-month change since the period ending February 1991. The energy index rose 29.3 percent over the last year, and the food index increased 6.3 percent.”
The rise in the cost of goods to consumers has continued to go up despite the White House repeatedly dismissing concerns over inflation as a “temporary” problem or something that only affects the wealthy.
Yes, those comments are very, very stupid, but take a look at who is running the country right now.
What’s worse is that these people are lying their faces off.
Inflation affects everyone, but those on fixed incomes and people living paycheck-to-paycheck are affected immediately and hit the hardest.
In a statement released on Wednesday regarding the Consumer Price Index — clearly a smooth move by Biden’s staffers so POTUS wouldn’t have to face the press directly — Biden insisted there was a “meaningful reduction in headline inflation” and that it shows “progress” on the part of the administration in slowing down rising costs to consumers.
He also then tried to downplay the number by saying that inflation is a “global” problem. While that’s true, Biden’s reckless spending has made the problem worse.
“Today’s report—which shows a meaningful reduction in headline inflation over last month, with gas prices and food prices falling—demonstrates that we are making progress in slowing the rate of price increases,” Biden said in a statement.
Although Biden claimed food prices were falling, the new Consumer Price Index data indicate that food prices actually increased by .5 percent from November to December, up in total 6.3 percent over 12 months. The monthly rate of increase slowed from .7 percent in November.
Energy costs did fall .4 percent in December, according to the new data, driven by falling gasoline and natural gas prices. But energy costs remain 29.3 percent higher than last year, according to the new data.
“At the same time, this report underscores that we still have more work to do, with price increases still too high and squeezing family budgets,” Biden went on.
“Inflation is a global challenge, appearing in virtually every developed nation as it emerges from the pandemic economic slump. America is fortunate that we have one of the fastest growing economies—thanks in part to the American Rescue Plan—which enables us to address price increases and maintain strong, sustainable economic growth.”

While Biden is patting himself on the back for overseeing a rate of inflation getting uncomfortably close to double-digits, economists say that we will see several more months of inflation.
The former Council of Economic Advisers Chairman and ex-White House Economics Advisor, Kevin Hassett, told Maria Bartiromo on Fox’s “Mornings With Maria” last week that he expects inflation to hit double digits in 2022 as a direct result of Biden’s “reckless” spending policies.
Oh, goody.
Meanwhile, Biden’s National Economic Council (NEC) Director is saying the United States is in a “strong economic position” because of course, he is.

To Clueless Joe and the Idiots On Parade in the West Wing, an annual inflation rate of 7% isn’t a complete failure of his administration to add to his growing list of other failures — it’s actually a good thing because it could have been worse!
Just like with the Afghanistan withdrawal, they want credit for not screwing it up more than they already have.

Well, even CNN was saying “YIKES!” when the CPI data was released:
Isn’t it funny how 7% inflation is no big deal, but the plebs should be bowing and scraping and throwing flowers at Biden for potentially saving 16-cent on BBQ and 5-cent savings on gas?
By the way, Joe, how much has gas gone up since takng office and nixing Trump’s energy policies that made the U.S. an energy exporter? Hmmm…?
But that’s how it is with this administration — they create or exacerbate a crisis and then want credit for slapping a Bandaid on the problem.
This is what happens when you have an incompetent leader surrounded by incompetent people.
But at least there are no mean tweets, right? Just authoritarianism and incompetence.
