There was a time when what Tulsi just said about Joe Biden’s speech would have been a mainstream position even among Dems. Times, and the Democrat party, have changed.
Joe Biden has been flipping and flopping like a beached flounder. His signature program is on the rocks. The inflation he tried to dismiss as ‘transitory’ isn’t just here to stay, it’s out of control.
He botched Afghanistan. Jobs numbers keep falling below expectations.
As for Covid, that one area where his approval was in the positive numbers? The bottom has dropped out there too.
So Dems are going back to the old playbook of whipping up hatred against the other side, hoping it makes the enemy look so bad they can ignore or forgive their failures. They’re playing the bigotry card again. It’s another version of the same Big Lie that Joe built his campaign around. He does it because the media helps him with it, and credible rubes on the left nod in affirmation like bobbleheads.
Here’s the part of Biden’s speech that’s getting a lot of play.
“I will defend the right to vote. Our Democracy against all enemies, foreign and yes domestic … the consequential moments in history, they present a choice. Do you want to be on the side of Dr King, or George Wallace? Do you want to be on the side of John Lewis, or Bull Connor? Do you want to be on the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis? This is the moment to decide! To defend our elections! To defend our Democracy!”
But there’s at least one Democrat who’s not playing along with that script… Tulsi is calling him out on his BS.

This is a man who campaigned to be the ‘President of All Americans’… a man that invokes the language of an America that isn’t red or blue but is purple. If any of that rhetoric were true, he would use his Presidency differently… and he would lay aside the invective to start healing America.
But he can’t do that, because he’s got a big agenda to push through and he wants a legacy project, dammit. He wants to be bigger than FDR and that’s not going to happen without some bare-knuckle politics and outright lies.

And the invocation of MLK’s name on his lips is as revolting as it is cynical.
The Biden administration’s elevation of Equity in the place of Equality is spitting on the memory of the Reverand and completely contradicts his famous ‘I Have A Dream’ speech. ‘Equity’ IS racially divisive… by design.
She’s may still have a long way to go before she’s waving any Republican colors, but she’s one of the few Democrats with a public profile who live up to RBG’s ‘disagree without being disagreeable’ standard.

She doesn’t hate America and she doesn’t count citizens who disagree with her as ‘the enemy’. That puts her miles ahead of a lot of people in the current administration… not to mention Congress.
