Sen. Josh Hawley Blasts DHS For Focus On ‘Disinformation’ Instead Of Southern Border Crisis

Instead of building a big, beautiful wall, the Biden’s Department of Homeland Security is creating a Ministry of Truth straight out of Orwell’s 1984.

On Wednesday, Politico reported that the Department of Homeland Security is setting up a new “Disinformation Governance Board” to combat “misinformation” that will specifically focus on two things: illegal migration at the southern border and Russia. Just in time for the 2022 Midterms! How convenient.

DHS is standing up a new Disinformation Governance Board to coordinate countering misinformation related to homeland security, focused specifically on irregular migration and Russia. Nina Jankowicz will head the board as executive director. She previously was a disinformation fellow at the Wilson Center, advised the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry as part of the Fulbright Public Policy Fellowship and oversaw Russia and Belarus programs at the National Democratic Institute. This is the Biden-Harris admin’s priorities — they’re more concerned about mitigating Dems’ upcoming failure in the midterms and policing speech they don’t like than actually dealing with the thousands of people crossing the border illegally every single day.

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) is questioning why DHS is prioritizing that rather than the thousands of illegal migrants entering the country daily via the porous Southern Border.

Hawley wrote one of his legendary letters to Secretary Mayorkas demanding answers on how the board will run. In his tweet sharing the letter, he noted that the Biden-Harris administration has made it a priority to target individuals that don’t share their leftist worldview — including parents concerned about the rampant indoctrination on race and gender that is being pushed on students in public schools.

He wasn’t the only one critical of the move.

Conservatives on social media slammed the Biden administration after it was announced that a ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ is being established to combat ‘disinformation’ in the 2022 midterms.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas testified Wednesday that a “Disinformation Governance Board” had recently been created, days after Tesla CEO Elon Musk purchased Twitter, to combat online disinformation and will be led by Undersecretary for Policy Rob Silvers co-chair with principal deputy general counsel Jennifer Gaskill.

“The goal is to bring the resources of (DHS) together to address this threat,” Mayorkas said, adding that the department is focused on the spread of disinformation in minority communities…

…”Is there anything more dystopian than a Disinformation Governance Board run by the federal government?” Florida Republican Congressional Candidate Dr. Willie J. Montague tweeted, adding in a later tweet that the board is “Orwellian.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) also called it “dystopian”.

Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) tweeted that it’s rather curious timing now that billionaire Elon Musk has purchased Twitter and is committed to ending the one-sided censorship on the site.

Meanwhile, Nina Jakowicz is very excited to take on the job as head of DHS’s censorship “disinformation” board.

Hawley has drawn attention to Biden’s new “anti-speech czar” and highlighted some of her rather disturbing positions.

A piece in the Washington Examiner exposes Jankowicz as a fan of the now-discredited Steele dossier and was repeatedly downplaying the Hunter Biden “Laptop From Hell.” In March 2021, she tweeted that within the intelligence community, there was “a high degree of confidence that the Kremlin used proxies to push influence narratives, including misleading or unsubstantiated claims about President Biden” which she claimed was “a clear nod to the alleged Hunter laptop.”

The Biden-Harris admin has installed a Dossier Truther and Laptop Denier as head of a board investigating “disinformation” online.

What could possibly go wrong?

Oh, and her charm doesn’t just extend to those Blue-Anon conspiracy theories. Here she is on CNN warning about armed Trump supporters intimidating voters at the polls.

Absolute utter garbage.

She’s just fearmongering and painting Trump supporters as violent.

How irresponsible when there were already heightened tensions over a summer of riots and looting by leftists all over the country that spread like a cancer around the globe.

While we’re on that… let’s not forget that Democrats bragged in Time Magazine about how they were able to “fortify” the 2020 election with the help of activists ready to “flood the streets” if Trump won. These were the same groups that were “flooding the streets” all summer and we all know how that turned out. That’s why so many windows in Democrat cities were boarded up — it was in case the left went nuts and took their rage at losing an election on the innocent shop and restaurant owners.

“Americans plan widespread protests if Trump interferes with election,” Reuters reported in October, one of many such stories. More than 150 liberal groups, from the Women’s March to the Sierra Club to Color of Change, from Democrats.com to the Democratic Socialists of America, joined the “Protect the Results” coalition. The group’s now defunct website had a map listing 400 planned postelection demonstrations, to be activated via text message as soon as Nov. 4. To stop the coup they feared, the left was ready to flood the streets…

…“We wanted to be mindful of when was the right time to call for moving masses of people into the street,” Peoples says. As much as they were eager to mount a show of strength, mobilizing immediately could backfire and put people at risk. Protests that devolved into violent clashes would give Trump a pretext to send in federal agents or troops as he had over the summer. And rather than elevate Trump’s complaints by continuing to fight him, the alliance wanted to send the message that the people had spoken.

So the word went out: stand down. Protect the Results announced that it would “not be activating the entire national mobilization network today, but remains ready to activate if necessary.” On Twitter, outraged progressives wondered what was going on.

You know how this will go.

It will go the way that it has been going for years — one side and one side alone gets reprimanded, censored, and deplatformed by partisans that demand to be the arbiters of “disinformation” when they’re blind to their own biases.

The censorship of the purveyors of “disinformation” are then targeted by the Regime Media and the narrative is fixed.

It’s a direct threat to liberty and to democracy.

Democracy dies in darkness, indeed.
