It’s one of those details the left didn’t think through very well. If you crater the economy, companies will have to slash jobs. Guess WHICH jobs contribute exactly NOTHING to the bottom line?
With official consumer inflation numbers somewhere around 8%, and producer inflation numbers closer to 11%, the economy is in for a bumpy ride.
Interest rates are already climbing, which means that even the people who might want to switch to a luxury electric car will have a much more difficult time affording it.
The writing is on the wall for companies like Tesla, and Elon is getting ready for the storm while it is still approaching, instead of just cleaning up the mess after it hits.
That means finding efficiencies in the company and cutting positions that don’t contribute to the ongoing success of the company.
The bottom line simply does not care what special month the activists might be celebrating. As the saying goes, ‘nothing personal, it’s just business’. Maybe the people who worked so hard to fill the White House with financial incompetents should take a long hard look in the mirror before they look for someone to blame for the ax about to land on their necks.
A website sympathetic to the activists was wringing its hands over it…
Earlier this month, we reported on Musk telling Tesla executives in an email that they need to cut 10% of the workforce and pause hiring due to having a “super-bad feeling” about the economy.
Later, the CEO decided to clarify the Tesla layoffs in an email to all employees. He claimed that the 10% reduction would be for “salaried headcount” due to Tesla becoming overstaffed following a long growth phase.
…Now we learn that many employees involved in diversity and inclusivity programs were part of the layoffs – including the president of Tesla’s LGBTQ+ community – and a lead involved in diversity and inclusivity programs at the company.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Bobby Berretta-Paris, a five-year Tesla veteran, was let go last week. He was hired as a recruiter and promoted three times during his tenure. He was also the volunteer president of LGBTQ+ at Tesla.
Sources also told Electrek about a software engineer that was also let go by Tesla last week. They had been working at Tesla for four years – most recently as senior software engineer in charge of naming conventions in Tesla’s vehicle UI team – and had been promoted three times. The software engineer volunteered as a diversity and inclusion leader and was involved in employee protection when it came to issues of diversity and inclusion. —Elektrek
The website really didn’t like Elon’s criticism of the ‘woke mind virus’ that has proven so disruptive to the work environment of other companies (recall Google’s firing of Damore).
They seem to think this is some kind of an ideological purge. And we all know that only the left is allowed to conduct political purges… right?
The problem is that the activists are getting the world they fought for. Unfortunately, that world has much tighter margins and less room for positions that don’t contribute to the primary goal of creating a product the public will buy.
Congrats, lefties… you just played yourselves.
Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.
Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.
This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
