Cue the Left’s outrage in 3… 2… 1…
The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in favor of the Constitution on Thursday overturning New York’s 108-year-old “proper cause” restriction as a violation of Americans’ 2nd and 14th amendment rights.
The Supreme Court has struck down a New York law that severely restricted licenses to carry a concealed weapon, in the high court’s biggest Second Amendment ruling in more than a decade.
President Joe Biden said he was ‘deeply disappointed’ in the ruling, saying in a statement that it ‘contradicts both common sense and the Constitution, and should deeply trouble us all.’
The 6-3 ruling on Thursday reversed a lower court’s opinion, which had upheld the 108-year-old New York law restricting licenses to carry concealed weapons in public to those demonstrating ‘proper cause’.
Justice Clarence Thomas delivered the majority opinion, writing that the New York law prevents law-abiding citizens from exercising their Second Amendment rights.
New York is not alone in severely limiting who can get a license to carry concealed in public, and the new ruling will likely make it easier to legally carry a gun in major cities including Los Angeles, Boston and Baltimore.

Libs are now acting like the world is ending because, according to them, the decision to allow people to carry weapons for self-defense makes people less safe somehow.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul reacted rather stupidly using the tired old “fire in a crowded theater” line (incorrectly) during a presser.
Once again, anyone who uses the line “fire in a crowded theater” should immediately receive ten lashes and then be sent to the salt mines.

She also tweeted that she’s considering calling a special session of the legislature to exert states’ rights or something…
In response to this ruling, we are closely reviewing our options – including calling a special session of the legislature.
Just as we swiftly passed nation-leading gun reform legislation, I will continue to do everything in my power to keep New Yorkers safe from gun violence.

There’s a “national reckoning” on gun violence?
Is that happening in Chicago, Baltimore, and L.A. along with the other urban centers where gun gang violence is rampant? No? Gee, how strange.
No, what’s happening is that Democrat gun grabbers are not “letting a crisis go to waste” and looking for any way to undermine the Second Amendment.
Calling for a special session of the legislature in order to undermine a Supreme Court upheld constitutional right — that’s some pretty bold talk for someone who wasn’t even elected as Governor and only got the job because her boss was ousted for (allegedly) being been a bit too handsy with a number of ladies and not because he (verifiably) ordered COVID-positive patients to be placed in nursing homes putting other residents at risk and causing thousands of deaths while he wrote a book about “pandemic leadership.”
But on that whole calling a “special session” of the legislature — isn’t it funny how Democrats want to exert states’ rights when it comes to gun control but will call you a “fascist” if you suggest the same can be done when it comes to abortion which is not an enumerated Constitutional right?
Oh, those Democrats! If they didn’t have double standards, they wouldn’t have standards at all.
The Vice President weighed in and said that the ruling “defies common sense and the Constitution of the United States.”

Has she read the Constitution?
She’s probably one of those people that believe that a “well regulated Militia” means that you regulate the weapons that can be used. The same people who think that that is clear language cannot seem to understand the next part where it says that “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Lord, save us from these incompetent leaders who don’t seem to have reading comprehension skills!
Heck, did she even read the decision?
Justice Clarence Thomas specifically addresses Constitutionality in the ruling.
“We know of no other constitutional right that an individual may exercise only after demonstrating to government officers some special need. That is not how the First Amendment works when it comes to unpopular speech or the free exercise of religion. It is not how the Sixth Amendment works when it comes to a defendant’s right to confront the witnesses against him. And it is not how the Second Amendment works when it comes to public carry for self-defense,” wrote Thomas.
“New York’s proper-cause requirement violates the Fourteenth Amendment in that it prevents law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defense needs from exercising their right to keep and bear arms,” he added.
The White House issued a statement from President Brandon Biden where he not only expressed his disappointment at the ruling but invoked the tragedies in Buffalo and Uvalde to push gun control. Of course.
I am deeply disappointed by the Supreme Court’s ruling in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen. Since 1911, the State of New York has required individuals who would like to carry a concealed weapon in public to show a need to do so for the purpose of self-defense and to acquire a license. More than a century later, the United States Supreme Court has chosen to strike down New York’s long-established authority to protect its citizens. This ruling contradicts both common sense and the Constitution, and should deeply trouble us all.
In the wake of the horrific attacks in Buffalo and Uvalde, as well as the daily acts of gun violence that do not make national headlines, we must do more as a society — not less — to protect our fellow Americans. I remain committed to doing everything in my power to reduce gun violence and make our communities safer. I have already taken more executive actions to reduce gun violence than any other President during their first year in office, and I will continue to do all that I can to protect Americans from gun violence.
I urge states to continue to enact and enforce commonsense laws to make their citizens and communities safer from gun violence. As the late Justice Scalia recognized, the Second Amendment is not absolute. For centuries, states have regulated who may purchase or possess weapons, the types of weapons they may use, and the places they may carry those weapons. And the courts have upheld these regulations.
I call on Americans across the country to make their voices heard on gun safety. Lives are on the line.
Gee, why does that invoking of tragedy to push gun control sound so familiar…? Right. His idiot blackface Twinsie in Canuckistan does the same sort of thing for exactly the same reason. Trudeau also invoked the Uvalde tragedy to push an extreme gun control bill in Canada.
Tyrant Trudeau’s Liberal Government Introduced An Extreme Gun Control Bill — Here’s The 411
But hey, at least Clueless Joe is focused on what’s going on in his own country.
That’s something, right?
This ruling kind of makes those GOP squishes that sided with the gun-grabbing Dems to undermine 2A rights look like blithering idiots, doesn’t it?
Good.

Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.
Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.
This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
