Have you ever seen those gym rats who sink half their lives into pumping up their chests to impress the girls while their legs look like a couple of pencils sticking out of their shoes?

Did you know that blowing off proper Christian formation can look even more ridiculous than the gym bros’ skinny legs?

Some of you are probably reading this and going through a mental checklist of naughty-naughty bad-bad sins to figure out if you’re in the clear.

Here’s the bad news: if a moral checklist is your gut reaction to the question of how things stand in your Christian maturity, you’re lagging further behind than you probably want to admit.

But there’s good news. To find out more about that, you’ll have to catch this week’s show.

While you’re at it, here’s his latest book:

Psalms of War: Prayers That Literally Kick Ass is a collection, from the book of Psalms, regarding how David rolled in prayer. I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.

Also included in this book, Psalms of War, are reproductions of the author’s original art from his Biblical Badass Series of oil paintings.

This is a great gift for the prayer warriors. Real. Raw. Relevant.
