Whenever we run a story about God, the local windup trolls come out to play with their threadbare and hackneyed claims that the Christian faith (and our God) isn’t real.
You almost feel bad about picking on them. These sad little critics don’t even have sense enough to fight the battle where it matters: on the real root claim of Christian belief.
God himself saw fit to include in His word something that no other religion — including the various cultish subsets of secular unbelief — has the cojones to put their money where their mouth is.
What one claim, if proven false, would make your entire system of belief come crashing down like a house of cards?
God built the scientific falsifiability question right into His word in black and white. You can look it up in whatever translation you like, 1 Cor 15:14.
‘And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.’
I will say that again — no other religion, including secular unbelief — has the stones to push all their chips in and say ‘THIS one claim, if disproven, will prove me wrong once and for all’.
They don’t go all in. They can’t. They dare not take their chance because they are frauds.
God, on the other hand, has stepped up. He is literally daring anyone to take up His challenge.
But we gotta warn you… it’s not the easy win you might think it is.
If someone really wanted to get cheeky, they wouldn’t even need a Christian to defend the claim. Atheists gladly do the heavy lifting themselves in trying to prove their own point.
If you want to have fun sometime, look up some of the competing theories atheists support in ‘refuting’ the resurrection. Each school of thought sets about running its own theories about what ‘really happend’ at the resurrection, at the expense of ‘those idiots’ in rival camps.
Pay particular attention how each camp rips the ‘other’ theory to ribbons in defense of their own, not realizing that other atheistic anti-theologians are doing exactly the same to their theory… and, taken together, they are all (in spite of themselves!) proclaiming the truth of the Good news of the Gospel.
Once you start working out all sorts of other variables that need to be accounted for, the question of disproving Christ’s resurrection gets far more complicated… in a hurry.
This podcast episode serves two purposes: first, it’s fuel for the faith of the Christian and second, it’s a straight-up dare for the faithless.
But this one comes with a warning to the non-believer: have you asked yourself what happens if you lose? The stakes are higher than you think.
If you can’t refute the Resurrection is what it says it is… intellectual honesty will require you to face Christ as WHO he says He is. It’s the kind of dare that could just change your life.
If you’re up for it, that is.
John The Baptist: A Rude Awakening Precedes A Great Awakening.
This timely little tome chronicles the politically incorrect ministry of one of God’s most effective wildmen, John the Baptist, who prepared the way for Christ’s ministry.
The abrasive message of repentance John preached 2000 years ago is still confrontational and offensive today — but it is also life-changing.
In our putrid, worldly culture that has turned away from God, this book is a must-read for every Christian.
Available in paperback for those of you who like the feel of the pages in your hot, little hands, on Kindle to keep it right at your fingertips, and as an epic Audiobook.
