Leaving Everything To Follow Christ

If you haven’t noticed, there isn’t a lot of room for sales-pitch Churchianity in scripture. There are no flowery promises about a life on easy street.

Jesus doesn’t sand off the rough edges of his message to make it palatable for the masses. Instead, He goes out of his way to front-load the offensive parts of being a disciple. It’s a great way to weed out the wannabes and the easy-believers.

Is America headed for a recession?

What? It’s gonna cost me something? I’m going to have to submit my will to Someone and Something bigger than my own little navel-gazing world? That’s a tough word.

Think so?

In that case, it’s about to get tougher as we talk about the next thing Jesus said.

Are you gonna be one of the ones who taps out? Or are you able to look past the way His message pinches your flesh to glimpse the 30,000 foot the God’s Eye view of your situation?

Once you get a glimpse of THAT, there’s no turning back — no matter WHAT you might have to leave behind. You won’t be afraid of some sweat, some grime, or what it might cost you. You won’t need pretty promises of an easy life.

Because you’ll be looking at a whole OTHER reward system… one that will genuinely satisfy.

Lionhearted: Making Young Christian Males Rowdy Biblical Men

Dear young Christian male, this book you’re about to read is meant to challenge you to your very core. Its intent is not to make you feel warm and fuzzy. Some of the chapters will upset you greatly, especially if you’re a dandy who was raised with kid gloves by a helicopter mommy.

That said, in addition to the holy introspection contained herein, this book will also shoot adrenaline into your soul. It’ll push you to be a Godly risk taker and earth shaker. A veritable Rebel With A Cause just like the Captain of Our Salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you want a feel-good book that tickles your ears and morphs you into a little Christian popinjay, this tome ain’t for you. You should put this book down and walk away from it immediately. However, if, young man, if … your motto is to give God your utmost for His highest, and you wanna live a life worthy of Christ’s death, then this book will be grist for your mill.
