WAR DECLARED: American Embassy Staff Given ‘Shelter In Place’ Orders As Hamas Attacks Escalate

In response to a surprise attack by Hamas, war has been formally declared by Israel. The attack began with an early morning raid on Israeli cities with 5000 rockets and was followed with groups of armed men in trucks crossing into residential neighborhoods and dragging civilians out of their homes.

Israeli hostages have been taken by the militants.

There has been gory footage all over social media of an elderly couple laying dead in a pool of blood on the street, of buildings in flames, of the body of an Israeli soldier being paraded in the back of truck, with someone spitting on his corpse, among other grisly scenes.

It’s official. This is being received as a declaration of war — and Israel is responding in kind.

(It has not passed unnoticed that 2023 marks 50 years since the Yom Kippur War.)

The enormous barrage of rockets was intentional, deliberately overwhelming the ability of Iron Dome defenses to defend against the rockets. As a result, buildings were hit and people died, including a woman in her sixties. (Elected Democrats who loudly opposed support for the Iron Dome DEFENSIVE capabilities of Israel will have some explaining to do.)

As night falls, the rocket attacks from Hamas have not let up.

The fact the the House does not currently have a leader will complicate any necessary intelligence briefings or legislation which can’t go forward without a House Speaker.

Leaders from around the world have made the usual statements about unwavering support and solidarity. But some stood out as striking a very different tone.

On both sides? Did they say the same thing in response to Russia’s ‘Minor Incursion’ of Ukraine? Oh, that’s different somehow. This cynicism wasn’t just from them, either.

Here’s a very respected voice on the left weighing in with one of his more horrific idiot takes… until he’s forced to delete it.

Because Ukraine has that trendy yellow-and-blue flag and Israel does not.

There is every possiblity this can spill over and involve other groups. It appears the planning for this has been in the works for months.

I bet you haven’t heard these read, prayed, or sung in church against our formidable enemies — and therein lies the Church’s problem. We’re not using the spiritual weapons God gave us to waylay the powers of darkness. It might be time to dust them off and offer ‘em up if you’re truly concerned about the state of Christ’s Church and of our nation.
