The ‘gotcha’ tactics here are pretty routine. Stick a camera in someone’s face and ask a question. Ideally they give the ‘right’ answer or are forced to play defence. Not this time. Not on THIS question.
When the Gaza Gotcha question came, Senator Rubio was ready for it.
With protesters around America actually going so far as aligning with the Hamas protesters and trying to blame Israel on the attacks of 10/7, Rubio was having none of it.
He was clearly down to his last nerve, and along comes an activist asking if he will call for a ceasefire in Israel. So Marco let fly.
He went on offence.
No ambiguity.
No quarter.
No sugar-coating it.

And when the other side tried to turn the question aroud on him by making it a question of innocent victims and moral high ground — he was ready for that, too.
