OOPS: Vanity Fair Downplays Epstein List… Then We Learn THIS About Them
What OTHER stories have they been spiking on behalf of their powerful friends?
The partisan press has a favorite game it plays whenever it wants to signal their dislike for a topic to the general public. Make a MAGA reference.
If ‘MAGA’ likes a thing, that thing should be viewed with suspicion. If ‘MAGA’ dislikes a thing it’s because of their own moral deficiences.
We see this play out again and again. It is, in fact, the beating heart of all those ‘Republicans Pounce’ stories.
We see it again with how the press-titutes covered the Jeffrey Epstein client list story. You might expect that SOME sort of a lesson might be learned in the wake of ABC being caught out for having suppressed the Epstein story for years. And don’t get us started about Harvey Weinsein or Ed Buck… whose sins EVENTUALLY caught up with them, but that was long after they continued to rack up victims the press could have protected.
The media had a chance this week to prove they had learned a lesson with respect to how they report on #MeToo stories OTHER than allegations that can be used to damage OrangeManBad. Let’s see how well they did.
A tweet by @EndWokeness brings our attention to an embarrassing situation by Vanity Fair.
First, it points to the ‘Republicans Pounce’ handling of the Epstein List story… as if the Republican Reaction to the story is more important than the number of powerful, rich, and influential people who are (allegedly) corrupt child abusers named in the story.
Trump Supporters Are Very Worked Up About the Jeffrey Epstein “List”
“Every time they want to cover their tracks, they go after Trump.”
Court documents set to be released soon related to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier who died in prison awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges, are apparently of immense concern to supporters of Donald Trump, who seem to be girding themselves over the prospect of his name showing up. — VF
Ah, OK. The REAL story is that Trump’s name will come up.
And it DID come up. Unfortunately for them, how it DID come up was entirely exculpatory. For example, there were a series of direct questions to the victim about whether she had ever seen Trump at any of the various places where Epstein and his guests had abused girls. Again and again the answer was ‘no’.
The Epstein story is a big one. The courts were unable to release all of the appropriately redacted documents at once. They needed to hide, for example, the victim’s personal details.
There was going to be another tranche of documents. And so there was.
And wouldn’t you know it, Vanity Fair’s own name came up in it, painting them not as complicit in the crime, but in the cover-up that allowed it to continue.
The tweet mentioned above did us the service of highlighting the important parts of an embarrassing-to-Vanity-Fair 2011 email exchange between the victim (whose name is now publicly known) and journalist Sharon Churcher.
This came out in yesterday’s document dump… AFTER their Trump Supporters Are Very Worked Up story.
Retranscribing the chain, in chronological order for ease of reading, it reads as follows:
First was the journalist’s email to Virginia Giuffre.
I would let VF buy your picture via Brad. The big gamble would be to let him also give them a statement saying your interviews with us were accurately reported and you have no more to say at this time about how you were “sex trafficked” to PA and other men including two of the world’s most respected politicians (redacted and redacted as well as women (the scenes with Ghislaine etc) because you are writing a book The reason this is a gamble is Jeffrey knows some of the ost powerful people in publishing and, once alerted, will inevitably try to scare off potential buyers. But the upside is it should help you get a good agent.
I would have Brad use the phrase “sex trafficked” as that is a heads up about the book revealing more than we printed.
Then came Virginia’s reply.
Hi Shazza, Good points, all of them. I am looking at both sides to the picture. On the upside it will give exposure to build up publicity for the case and the story but like you said, it must be carefully written and not give any notions about the upcoming book and or any new info. When i was doing some research into VF yesterday, it does concern me what they could want to write about me considering that B. Clinton walked into VF and threatened them not to write sex-trafficking stories about this good friend J.E. Should I be asking what is this story their writing pertaining to? I wouldn’t want to give the public a bad image or anything like that. I don’t know, it’s all such a gamble. I just thank goodness for having a friend like you on the inside who knows how to deal with the viciousness of today’s world!! I will let Brad know what you have recommended. Thanks Again!
The really interesting part of this revelation is that Bill Clinton PERSONALLY ran interference to protect his ‘good friend’ Jeffrey Epstein and keep his crimes out of the news cycle.
It wasn’t just Vanity Fair, either.
“Jeffrey knows some of the most powerful people in publishing and, once alerted, will inevitably try to scare off potential buyers”
Bill Clinton. Jeffrey Epstein. Harvey Weinstein. Ed Buck. How many OTHER well-off, connected, and powerful people were leaning on the media for the damage control and reputation management?
How can the press possibly ‘speak truth to power’ when the powerful have such obvious strings they can pull to silence the press?
THIS is why the ‘misinformation’ and ‘disinformation’ categories are so important. It lets them reinstate the gate-keeping they enjoyed before social media democratized the flow of information.
In Doug Giles’ latest book, Biblical Badasses: The Women, Giles spotlights ten epic ladies who did awesome things for God with the odds severely stacked against them. These girls weren’t your typical church ladies. They were holy movers and shakers who upset hell with their God-honoring, faith-filled, lives. Giles’ unique take on these terrific women makes the scripture come alive. This book is real, raw, relevant, and irreverent. Giles’ prayer is that after reading, Biblical Badasses: The Women, not only will your noggin be filled with these amazing tales of high and lows from real women who rocked in a hard place, via the power of God, but that you will get off your butt, quit pursuing stupidity, start chasing down your high calling and at the end of your life, you too, like the holy femme fatales featured herein, will have left a massive scar on Satan’s haggard backside.
