In this clip from Sky Arts’ “Greatest Guitar Riffs”, Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi, 75, and his longtime buddy Sir Brian May, 76, of Queen chatted about their friendship, guitar riffs, and the surprising origin of one of the greatest heavy metal songs of all time — Black Sabbath’s 1970s hit, “Paranoid”.

The pair then play together and May jokes that he’s going to “commit sacrilege” by joining in and soloing over Iommi’s simple but iconic guitar riff.

In a world filled with autotune and computer-generated music, it’s nice to see that a couple of guys who have been honing their craft for decades have still got it.

What an awesome way to ring in 2024!
