Worst-Case Scenario

We are living during a period of our country’s history where things seem just more than a little “off”. The one thing that most agree on is that this didn’t happen immediately, overnight, or in a vacuum. It’s the potential consequences of our current state of affairs that suggests the title for this article.

So what is the worst-case scenario? While there are a lot of different situations currently that could fill that slot, let’s look at one idea. One person, and the reaction to them, can change the course of history. Some of the best examples from the last century are:

Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, i.e. Lenin (1870_1924). Lenin was fervently anti-Tsarist and was exiled several times. During one exile in Finland, he fled to Switzerland. In 1917, Germany aided Lenin’s secret return to Russia to help destabilize the government and get Russia out of WW1. Thus began the Soviet era in Europe.

Mao Zedong (1843-1976). During WW2, Mao organized an army to rid China of Japanese occupation. By 1949, after the Chinese Revolution, Mao established the People’s Republic of China. The world outside of China is only now beginning to feel the impact of Mao.

Adolph Hitler (1889-1945). Hitler really needs no introduction since his very name has become synonymous with evil. Even though Japan had begun regional conquest earlier than Nazi Germany, it was Hitler’s actions that started WW2. His anti-Semitic policies also brought about the Holocaust.

These are just three examples of how one individual changed history. Look at the 21 years (1918-1939) between the World Wars of the last century. Certain individuals, and the reactions to them, brought about momentous circumstances. A very determined minority, or even one person, can initiate change that affects the lives of millions.

It has taken less than 20 years to change America. Obama’s two terms (2009-2017) were where the seeds of our divided nation were planted: the racial animus; distrust of police; government overreach via mandates into areas of our lives never before intruded upon; weaponizing deep state bureaucracies against normal Americans; etc., etc., were all started during his time in office.

Hilary Clinton was supposed to be the continuation of the B. Hussein Obama regime. Instead, Trump happened. And immediately, so did the deranged, unhinged hatred toward him.

The saying that someone is “living rent-free in your mind” hardly begins to address the animosity and outright hatred towards President Trump. Here’s a great example of this. On the 8/25/19 broadcast of CNN’s “Reliable Sources” program, commentator Allen Frances said:

“Trump is as destructive a person in this century as Hitler, Stalin, and Mao were in the last century. He may be responsible for many more deaths than they were.”

Wow…hyperbole, anyone? Let’s look at this statement factually. WW2 claimed the lives of at least 75,000,000 (which is the figure most historians agree on); Stalin, between 1931-34, created a famine in the USSR that killed at least 5,000,000 (along with the GULAG and other harsh internal policies, a total of 9,000,000 perished during his rule); Mao’s policies, which also included widespread famine, are believed to have killed 40 to 80 million. So yeah, Trump has killed at least 100,000,000 in just one term, with no new wars being started?
What Trump HAS done, by living in the Left’s collective head rent-free, is the job creation of attorneys who specialize in what is known as “lawfare”. It was Stalin’s Secret Police Chief, Lavently Beria who said, “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.”

There’s been a lot of coverage on Trump’s latest “crime”: overstating the value of property in order to secure loans. That is a common practice in real-estate negotiations. Nonetheless, Judge Arthur Engoron and New York State A.G. Letitia James have charged him with a crime that has no victims, since all monies borrowed have been paid back. They used a statute under which no one has ever been convicted and does not require a trial before a jury. He’s been fined almost a half billion dollars total.

Add to this everything else President Trump has faced: two impeachments (one for a phone call); the Mueller investigation, NYC prosecutor Alvin Bragg’s charges concerning alleged “hush money”; Atlanta D.A. Fani Willis investigation into Trump’s “election interference”; and there are some I’ve not included, but you get the point.
No matter the outcome, the Left’s deranged, unhinged hatred of Trump will not stop. He will always be the personification of evil to them. This is the same as the general consensus regarding Hitler’s name … just another word for evil. Hitler has been dead since 1945, but his name lives on. Trump’s name, no matter what happens, will probably also live on.

Perhaps the greatest worst case scenario involving Trump is this: assassination, or the attempt thereof.

Every president gets death threats, regardless of which side of the aisle they come from. Even before he took office, Trump had two threats in 2016; one each in 2017 and 2018; two in 2020; and one more in 2023. All threats on elected officials are taken seriously.

What’s scarier is when the threat stage is bypassed for an actual assassination attempt. That’s what Congressman Steve Scalise (R-LA) experienced at the hands of James T. Hodgkinson on 6/14/17.

Along with everything feeling “off”, as mentioned at the start of this article, we’re also experiencing a time when a large portion of the public no longer feels any kind of restraint. This is especially dangerous with the attitudes toward police, open borders, and the lack of criminal prosecution. People feel entitled and emboldened to act out their worst fantasies and desires.

The unbridled hatred toward President Trump could lead to the ultimate worst-case scenario. This would be true whether or not he wins the next election. But if he does win, that’s the worst-case scenario for the anti-Americans.

There are more of us than there are of them, though. With the knowledge that, yes, one person does have the power to change history, we know where the true power lies.

Even so, come Lord Jesus (Rev. 22:20)
