Anxious World Looks On After Iran’s President Killed In Helicopter Crash

While many of us have heard about the helicopter crash that killed — among others — the President of Iran, how much have you heard about Iran’s nukes?

A helicopter crash has changed the math in our dealings with Iran. Their President, and several other occupants, were confirmed dead in the wreckage. Heavy fog was blamed for the crash.

First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber is expected to take over as president. Iran’s constitution says the first vice president takes over for an interim period of 50 days if a president dies in office.
Mokhber has told state television that they would follow President Raisi’s path in “fulfilling assigned duties without any interruption”. — BBC

Remember how Trump’s approach to Iran’s policy was to walk away from the deal Obama struck and to starve Iran of money for its regional bad behavior? (Choking the money off was successful enough that their terror proxies around the Middle East were floundering. Hezbollah soldiers were even being put on furlough or downgraded to reservist status in response to the funding cuts.)

That’s a far cry from where Hezbollah is today, with cash enough to rain hundreds of missiles down on Northern Israel, forcing the evacuation of about a million Israelis. Iran, meanwhile, is only a couple of weeks away from joining the nuclear club.

The dead Iranian President was really shaken up back when Trump took out the trash by droning Soleimani. The good news is, they are now reunited.

The location might be the bad news. It’s somewhere warm, most likely. The ironic twist is that their top religious leader has called him a ‘martyr’… just for getting his dumb ass killed in a helo crash.

Anywho, for the next fifty days the world will see an interim president running Iran. His name is Mohammad Mokhber.

He’s aligned with their theocratic radical leader, so there is no likelihood of a softening of the regime’s oppression of its people. For that same reason, support of international jihad is likely to continue.

Whether or not the public will take this transition period as an opportunity to rise up against an unjust theocratic regime that has killed and imprisoned so many of its own citizens remains to be seen… but we know many have been itching for the opportunity to take their shot.

If conflict were to arise, internally or regionally, it could trigger cascading events further afield.

For now, we wait. And some of us will pray:
