Guess How Dems Feel About New Bill Blocking Illegals From Exploiting Voting Loopholes?

Still waiting for an innocent explanation for opposing these safeguards...

Just because it’s already illegal doesn’t mean nobody does it.

The left wants us to believe that just because it’s illegal for non-citizens to vote in our elections, we can be sure that it never happened.

These are some of the very same people who are absolutely convinced that Putin helped Trump steal the election in 2016 an that Stacey Abrams was ‘robbed’ of an election win in which her opponent beat her by only …

…about 55,000 votes or so. That’s a margin every bit as slim as Abrams herself.

If there is zero risk of illegal aliens using gaps in the laws and lax enforcement of safeguards to allow illegal foreign immigration interference — an offence so heinous that a sitting president was turned into a defendant for half his term in office until he could be cleared of wrongdoing, there should be no harm in creating legislation that duplicates our existing safeguards… rigth?

You might even say that the only reason someone would get touchy about this issue if there were some expectation that your own interests might benefit from those gaps NOT being filled and those loopholes being tightened.

So isn’t it strange how the GOP (who Pelosi has been denouncing for years as somehow opposing democracy) have been putting forward legislation, but the Democrats have been standing in the way?

Republicans in the U.S. House and Senate introduced a bill to implement additional safeguards to ensure that noncitizens, who are already prohibited from voting in federal elections, do not do so.
U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, led a coalition of 49 Republicans to introduce the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act in the U.S. House. U.S. Sen. Mike Lee of Utah, with several cosponsors, introduced the same bill in the Senate.
Citing the border crisis and the greatest number of foreign nationals illegally entering the country in U.S. history, the measure’s supporters expressed alarm that instead of being deported, many are being registered to vote.

Here’s Senator Mike Lee making the appeal.

And here’s the sponsor, Chip Roy…

Between voter-motor registration, active pushes for illegal aliens to vote in non-federal elections, there are all kinds of ways a person could wind up on an eligiable voter list (ranging from honest mistakes to corrupt intent) and this is one more safeguard that the one (qualified) person = one vote principle on which our democratic process relies remain intact.

Just like the bill the House just passed requiring the census to ONLY count lawful citizens (including for purposes of, for instance, determining the allocation of Electoral College votes) not a democrat supported it.

Democrats, predictably, strenuously oppose ALL such measures, whatever their stated goal.

They oppose it right down to the last man and woman for *cough* ‘some reason’ *cough*.

Whatever it might be.

For the life of me I couldn’t possibly imagine the reason.
